Stayed for one night with my daughter, it was cheap but to be honest I would have paid more had I know it was as bad as it was! The carpet smelt as soon as u walked through the door! The toilet didn't flush right and the window was very hard to close, once it was closed, if u opened... More

I stayed there 2 nights in single room, which cost 25 GBP per night. Staff was very gentle and helpful, breakfast was basic (toasts, butter, cereals, coffee/tea, various gems, fruits, bread roll, juice). Room was OK for one person, bathroom was small. It's located not in the centre, but you can easily get to by bus or on foot, bus... More

O.K. It is not 4 star but it is a convenient Commercial hotel with clean linen, good shower, in room 4, and enough space for 2 people to unpack the necessary. Bus stop outside, park over the road, free street parking around the corner. What do you want ? There is plenty of pricey luxury in the area. The linen... More

Bedroom was cramped and small for a double. Furniture was cheap and damaged. Door had to be slammed to lock properly. Bathroom small and very shabby. Shower was cheap and temperature kept changing of water. Rude female receptionist who couldn't seem to comprehend the ability to smile even if smiled at. No hand towels. Heater barely worked so room was... More

The merith is not a bad place to stay but it is badly let down by little things for example no wardrobe in bedroom, no mirror, nowhere to hang clothes in bathroom. I would recommend room only as breakfast is not worth the money and there are plenty of places to eat localy and watch you don't bang you're head... More

Stayed in Feb 2014. Great stay. Clean basic rooms. Simple breakfast... With a smile. The lady manager was really helpful and completely Scottish. It's nice to see Scottish people rather than eastern European.....! Definitely coming back. Old building but has been modernised. If ur looking for exclusive you should go 5*. We had an ensuite room on the top floor. It was warm and clean with a comfortable bed, coffee making facilities and TV. The room was small but fine for a short stay and great value for money. The two guys we spoke to on reception were both really friendly and helpful. I can't comment on breakfast as we had... More

We Booked a room priced at £60 per night, for this we had room only with a shared bathroom. I didn't think that the price was bad until we arrived and were shown to our room. Basic was an understatement! The bedding had holes in, the mattress had springs practically sticking through it and there was a distinct lack of... More

Stayed for several nights with my boyfriend. Expected it to be basic because it was so cheep which was fine as we were on a budget holiday. Terrible bed and pillow though. Acceptable breakfast. And everything needed a deep clean and makeover. Very cheep and easily get to from the centre. Fine for a place to rest your cap at... More
