Booked a superb room at this hotel. From the cheery welcome from Hannah to the room, the service and food. All Fabulous! We were meeting up with our son for a meal in The Rutland's Kyloe Restauarant, so decided to stay overnight too! So central in Edinburgh, and yet room was nice and quiet at night. Cannot believe we have... More

If you are looking for a hotel for accommodating adults and children then The Rutland Hotel is just the ticket. The hotel has a apartment, with two separate bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The lounge also has a sofa bed so can comfortably accommodate 6 people. The quality of the apartment is 5 star and has a very warm and... More

I booked into The Rutland for a anniversary surprise and I was not disappointed! I chose the castle view room and the view from the window was outstanding and only added to the romance! The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help make the weekend special. The facilities in the room were superb and it... More

We stayed in the first floor apartment. It is very spacious and the tall ceilings give it a sense of being very large. Loved the red-theme decor. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Very nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. We stayed here for four nights while getting our son settled at the University of Edinburgh. It is in a great location.... More

We stayed here on Wednesday 19th November in the Junior Suite and wow I was amazed from start to finish. The reception area is gorgeous and quirky in style with black and silver thrown like chairs and the girls on the desk were very pleasant and welcoming. We were shown to our room and everything was pointed out to us,... More

This is my third visit to The Rutland and I still love it! The rooms are great size as well as the bathrooms. Very nice amenities such as a mini bar, safe and toiletries. The front reception staff are very helpful and friendly. They made all my dinner reservations. The only downside was the WiFi. It kept going down. When... More

We booked this hotel after reading such excellent reviews on TA and liking the central location. On arrival I was a bit concerned just to find a front door up a short flight of stairs, however, we were welcomed warmly and taken to our room, No 4, a 'superior executive' room costing us £170 for the night b&b. Very pleasant... More

A really good experience at the Rutland. Welcoming staff with a positive attitude. Good room, excellent wifi. Surprisingly quiet, given the very central location. Recently changed from a long association with a competitor. Excellent first impression

Stayed here last weekend and what a little gem of a hotel, loved it. Fantastic location right in the centre of town and an easy walk to Murrayfield (we were there for the Rugby). Rooms were a great size including the bathroom and had all the little extras which makes it feel luxurious. The bar was very modern with a... More

Internet access has long been the achillies heel of The Rutland. They used to have a nightmare system which required you to constantly enter long alphanumeric codes for each device you want to use. They now have a system that in theory works via a Facebook login, except it doesn't. I asked for help only to be told it is... More
