Followed Tripadvisor reviews to this hotel and we were delighted. The rooms are of a high standard and well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Large room, comfortable bed and amply sized bathroom. Air con that works well and is relatively quiet. Nice touch that you get a little bottle of milk for the tea and coffee.... More

Stayed here for a full week this month. Got apartment 2 - for the same price as a double room at the nearby Sheraton. We had a vast living room - kitchen, large bedroom and very roomy bathroom. High ceilings throughout. Very comfortable. Slightly eclectic decor melding old and very modern. Excellent location within walking distance of Edinburgh castle, Princes... More

We had 3 nights here in October ,and the location is excellent right on Princes street and opposite the castle. We stayed in a Junior suite (room 6) which was a nice size and well layed out ,and it does have a side view of the castle . we couldnt keep this room for all three nights so moved to... More

I really enjoyed our stay here. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. They were charming, genuine and helpful. We booked a Castle view room which also meant we have a lovely view down Princes St. It is a little bit of a walk to get to the Royal Mile but that is the only detraction from the... More

We stayed for one night in a junior suite (room 12) the room was very spacious, clean and full of gadgets! The coffee machine and ghd hair straighteners were a lovely addition to the room! There was also the usual extras I would expect such as a mini bar and safe. The staff couldn't have been more helpful when showing... More

I came for a night at the Rutland Hotel (11-12 October) for a fab girly weekend getaway with my daughter. We chose the twin-bedded room (No.1), which was vast and very comfortable. Everyone we encountered was incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly, and the breakfast was very welcome. Worth every penny for a weekend to make you feel really special.

I stayed at The Rutland last week and could not have been more pleased, such a wonderful experience in every way. Superb central location right at the end of Princes St., w/ a great restaurant attached (The Huxley) - I would highly recommend booking the apartment at #15 if available - it was a ridiculously perfect accommodation. There are not... More

We stayed at the Rutland for two nights for our twentieth wedding anniversary. The staff at the reception, the restaurant and the bar were all very professional, kind and friendly. Our meal at the steak restaurant was superb and our breakfast was delicious too. The location is perfect....you could walk from the train station if you didn't have too much... More

I stayed here in September 2014 for my wedding. Myself and some of my bridal party had one of the apartments (19) the night before the wedding, and then myself and my husband stayed in room 5 (Castle View room) on our wedding night. We also had several wedding guests staying in various rooms. From the moment we arrived, the... More

My wife and I stayed at The Rutland for 5 nights in September 2014 and would strongly recommend this hotel to all my fellow travelers. The features which impressed us the most are: (1) Guest service quality - In comparison to many other hotels we've stayed in in Europe, I would rate the staff "10 out of 10". The ladies... More
