On arrival, the furnishings- window and bed linen were very faded and dated and the carpet in similar condition. There was an opened packet of biscuits, one of which was half eaten. This was a bedroom with a shared bathroom, but the bathroom was on the previous floor, a descent of 20 steep steps on a winding staircase to access.... More

The Ardenlee Guest House is in the New Town which is easy walking distance (10 mins) of Queen Street the main shopping area and the station but like everywhere in Edinburgh it is uphill! There is a bus service as an alternative that is close. It is in a beautiful Georgian building with high ceilings and has kept many of... More

The staff were fantastic, friendly, polite, and efficient. The lady that was running the place in particular was a lovely person, really friendly, down to earth, super helpful and hardworking, and provided a great service overall. The place is very nice, good decor and atmosphere. The room we stayed in was excellent. Bigger than we were expecting, very nicely furnished,... More

I give the Ardenlee Guest House an excellent rating because of its wonderful location and the very friendly and helpful staff. We felt extremely fortunate to end up in this hotel on our first visit to Edinburgh. It's a nice walk to the city center, but it's located out of the main tourist area (in the New Town), so the... I stayed here from 19-21st June. I originally booked for the Eyre Guest house but in arrival the accommodation had changed to next door but one. I took a young person I work with for a break. Our room were large, but could have done with a little more attention to them. The toilet was noisy after flushing which went... More

We had a very pleasant experience in this B&B. Our hosts were very accommodating and offered suggestions on lovely places to eat. The room that we stayed in was spacious and clean. One of the best points of the stay was the full Scottish breakfast and continental breakfast bar in the morning and the very practical location !

I would like to give a shining review of Kay who runs this guest house. We actually booked in next door but on arrival on NY Eve at 3pm we found our guest house to be closed down! Kay took us in, made us comfortable and helped us find alternative accommodation. Unfortunately for us she had no spaces herself but... More

Ardenlee Guest House is run by a very friendly and helpful hostess. Accommodations were pretty "bare bones". The bed was prehistoric and breakfast was "ok" with fewer choices than we were used to in our UK travels. There are two very good small restaurants just across the street if you don't want to take the long uphill walk to town... More

We stayed here Monday-Friday during half term, happy throughout. It was located in a beautiful area and the service was amazing! Our rooms were made and cleaned everyday, and breakfast was great. We stayed in a really nice apartment, with a nice view outside, and the high ceilings were an amazing touch to it. We were even given a bottle... More
