We've stayed at Barony House for a couple of nights in december 2014. The hosts were very welcoming and always ready to offer advice on anything we liked to know about Edinburgh (attractions, transportation, ...). Barony House is outside of the center but can easily be reached by several busses. Our room was very clean and tidy but they had... More

Great 2 night stay. Room was great. Hosts couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast was spot on. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the royal mile. Buses are an easy option though as they run constantly past the hotel. £1.50 for one way ticket, £3.50 for all day bus travel. Recommend.

Stayed for two days at the Barony (actually in the same room) again had a very pleasant stay, Not the most central but loads of buses pass the door - we had Room 1 which is spacious and comfortable, en suite shower and toilet, immaculately clean, hospitality tray including small decanter of sherry, excellent breakfast served by lovely girl (sorry... I stayed at Barony House for a few nights with my son before he moved into University of Edinburgh. We had a twin room in the back of the house. With my son's huge suitcases the room was cramped, but as soon as I moved him into school and stayed two extra night's on my own, the room was roomy... More

We have now stayed in Barony House twice within a two week span: first for 4 nights and a second stay for 2 nights. We recommend this house. Remember, this is a B & B, not a "5 star", but the rooms are comfortable, the beds are good, the bathrooms are small but clean and useful, and the breakfasts are... More

We stayed at Barony House for 4 nights from the 8th Sept. A very clean and room on the front of the property large bed (very hard)with attached en-suite somewhat noisy during rush hours. The hosts were helpful and nothing was to much trouble, Great bus services into town. The breakfast system, not sure about this! sort of worked but... More

Our room, at the rear of the house had high ceilings, was beautifully decorated and very clean. The ensuite was compact but very nice with some nice little touches. Beds were very comfortable. Couldn't hear any traffic, even with the window open. Breakfast was excellent (ordering what you wanted the night before). As you had to chose a time you wanted... More
