We stayed at Barony House for 4 nights from the 8th Sept. A very clean and room on the front of the property large bed (very hard)with attached en-suite somewhat noisy during rush hours. The hosts were helpful and nothing was to much trouble, Great bus services into town. The breakfast system, not sure about this! sort of worked but... More

Our room, at the rear of the house had high ceilings, was beautifully decorated and very clean. The ensuite was compact but very nice with some nice little touches. Beds were very comfortable. Couldn't hear any traffic, even with the window open. Breakfast was excellent (ordering what you wanted the night before). As you had to chose a time you wanted... More

Stayed at this B & B after reading rave reviews. Would agree with lovely building, beautifully clean and owners helpful with information on local buses but that's all. We just never felt at home. Ordering breakfast night before and deciding time (15 min slots) weird, I haven't a clue what I want to eat or drink until I have woken... More

The guest house is very beautiful, the room was spacious, clean and the staff was very helpful with us. There are on the desk a lot of information about the town and inside the room there was separate guide for the restaurants of the city, a really useful tool for visitors. In addition, the breakfast was rich. The only negative... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Barony House and have to say it's probably, no,is the best Bed and Breakfast we have stayed in. (This was the last stop of a UK road trip so we stayed in a few!) We stayed in the large double room at the front of the house and it was... More

Stayed at Barony House recently. It's a lovely old building but once inside the decor is to a very high standard. The room was a lovely big room, En- suite again with very tasteful furnishings. The overall impression was spotlessly clean and elegant surroundings. Having to choose your breakfast the night before seemed at bit OTT, however this resulted in... More

My dad and I stayed at Barony House for 2 nights during the Edinburgh Fringe and found it excellent value for money. We stayed in a pleasant twin ensuite room, with very comfy beds, & complimentary sherry. The cooked breakfasts were lovely, with good vegetarian options. The B&B is also well located; approximately a 25 minute walk from the city... More

We spent two nights here on a recent short break. Barony House is ideally situated for several bus routes into both the Old and New Towns - the £3,.50 day ticket is excellent value and includes the recently introduced tram. This well appointed guest house forms part of a Victorian terrace and has many of the original features. Breakfast is... More

Barony House BnB in Newington, Edinburgh, turned out to be the best surprise of our visit last week. Easily approachable with frequent buses from the Town Centre, Barony has a limited number of en-suite rooms and advance booking is necessary. Our first floor room overlooking the lawn, was spotlessly maintained, quiet and carpeted for a cozy stay. Barony's breakfasts are... More

We spent three great days/nights at Barony House. Although our room wasn't en suit (we booked this room so it was our choice) everything was just perfect, clean house, helpful stuff, delicious breakfast, the location of the hotel ... Thank you, greetings from the Czech Republic, Katerina
