This was our first trip to Scotland, and picked Glenalmond Guest House from Trip Adviser. The reports didn't dissapoint us. We had two days with Fiona and Jimmy, then went on a three day coach tour, and came back to them for another four days. There hospitality was second to none. First two days we had a double room, perfect,... more

We stayed at Glenalmond for 3 nights this August as a base for attending the Edinburgh Fringe. The house is spotless and beautifully decorated. Rooms were generous in size and the beds (especially in our superior double, room 6) were extremely comfortable. The breakfast choice at Glenalmond is amazing and we tried all sorts of dishes (though we wimped out... more

Forgot to post this upon my return, but I was just recommending this place to a friend, so I wanted to share. My friend and I were made to feel very welcome. Our room was great and the bathroom was spotless. The location is great as the bus stop is just out the door. Breakfast every morning was cooked just... more

Stayed there for 2 nights at beginning of August while in Edinburgh visiting friends. I liked my room a lot, liked the decor, its cleanliness, the comfy bed, and overlooking Mayfield Gardens. The room size was somewhat on the small end but since I was by myself this was no problem. The shower room was clean and very comfortable. (What... more

The Glenalmond Guest House is the perfect place to stay in Edinburgh if you'd like to be away from the tourist fray for awhile. Conviently located along major bus routes that lead you right into the hub of activity, this guest house is amazingly comfortable and clean. Fiona and Jimmy are remarkable hosts as they are friendly without being invasive... more
