THE worst hostel I have ever stopped in. As a well travelled individual, I found this hostel to be well below the standards of any other hostel I have ever stayed in. Whilst on a university trip, I faced a chain of issues the staff quite frankly could not care less about. Reception had very minimal levels of english, there... More

I was very unimpressed with this hostel. I don't have high standards for hostels as that is what you expect when travelling but this hostel was appalling. We were there with a group of internationals and I was embarrassed to show them this as part of the UK. We had no light in a dorm of 12, there was huge... More

I 've spent 2 nights over there with a bunch of friends in November 2014. it has a great location in the city, not far from the Edinburgh castle. the hostel is very quiet , it's clean and tidy everywhere; the rooms are spacious; it is an excellent deal. breakfast is okay but could be improved by the way. Also... More

Visited June 2013. Great location and cheap, this is for party people that aren't concerned with cleanliness per se. There were a lot of long-term hostellers that took over the kitchen at times but it was never an issue. We stayed in a 12 bed room for two nights but it wasn't full so not a problem with noise. My... We had to wait 45 min to check in as there was only one staff member behind the desk - a lot of people were waiting for check in with other staff members just standing around. I found the staff extremely rude and unapologetic as everyone was explaining to them that there was a big event on hence the need... More

Spent 2 nights here. Dorms G & H were very busy/full, bunk beds cost £10 per night. Due to large number of guests the floor space was a bit too cluttered with clothes, shoes and bags for my liking and better use of the lockers would have made the place a lot tidier. When I arrived there was a smell of... More

This hostels only positive point is its central location. The rest is bad news. The showers do not dispense hot water , lukewarm water only. No place to keep soap or shampoo in the showers. Lack of adequate WC' s. The internet is very slow and does not work on the third floor. Barely works adequately anywhere else. The mattresses... More

I stayed here a few months back for a class trip! Staff were nice and friendly going. The place itself is huge and in an ideal location situated within the new town. The hostel has a great theme going with plenty of artwork over the walls. Good nightlife is not too far astray from this place either. Everything in the... More

I have no negative experiences with this hostel, at all! The staff was friendly, the beds were so comfortable, the rooms were full of character and colour and I even managed to make some life long friends during my stay This hostel is just wow!

This hostel has some awesome artwork literally all over the walls. It's also huge which resulted in a lot of exploring. The beds were comfy and cozy and having separate bathrooms was really nice. I stayed in room L up at the top, oh god all those stairs!! Had a lovely time, I'd love to stay here again. Cheers!
