Although my room may not look like the picture shown on the advertisement, I definitely enjoyed my stay here. For 10 pound a night this place had breakfast, free locker storage, great friendly and efficient staff and a comfortable bed! What more can you ask for? An awesome kitchen with kitchen equipment, yep they had, a large eating area and... More

The bedding ie pillows and duvets are never washed only the covers yip changed but that's not a clean bed far from it they charge you what he want from 10 to 25 a night but it's a disgrace the showers toilets... Hi Unfortunately this gentlemen was asked to leave the hostel due to inappropriate behaviour towards another guest. We pride ourselves on making a safe environment for all our guests so we could not tolerate this sort of behaviour. Our team do a great job at keeping the backpackers clean, with the linen washed after each guest. This includes pillow cases,... More

The hostel is nice, cool and with a friendly environment. Lots of showers and bathrooms, and a really nice living room with sofas, pool tables, etc. Nice atmosphere. The only (really) bad thing is the noise in the rooms at night. People SNORED a lot, and the windows were open (because it was hot) so we could hear all the... More

Great central location to explore the city. Helpful and friendly staff. Amazing assistant manager. Really excellent atmosphere at the bar with other people staying at the hostel. Clean rooms showers and toilets. That is the place where to stay in Edinburgh.

Great place close to the city centre, nice staff helping with everything. Clean and tidy with cool painting on the walls. A little bit noisy in the night from the street, but nothing serious :) You´re in the big city after all, not a little village :)

Caledonian has a lot going for it. This includes Central location, helpful staff, decent bed comfort, midday check out, left luggage all day, free wifi, computers with printing option, cool movie room, breakfast until midday, airport tram / buses are metres away. All very much appreciated. Unfortunately it falls down on cleanliness. The carpets urgently needs to be changed. Secondly... More

For a big hostel it had a really nice feel. The rooms were good and had lockers you could use with your own padlock for security. Showers and toilets a plenty and all clean! Big common rooms and a fantastic beanbag cinema with a massive range of movies to chose from! Everybody was pretty friendly however, the staff behind the... More

The atmosphere of this place is unique and fantastic- I adored walls covered in paintings straight from comic books and bar that seems to be more fitting to Hawaiian beach, than rainy Scotland (no offense was meant my Scottish friends). All people from the staff were very friendly and happy to help. The Swamp is a great place to have... More

My friend and I stayed her for 2 nights on our trip around Scotland. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to booking tours. Rooms were tidy, bathrooms were exceptionally clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. Great location to shops, transport and a high variety of walking tours. Highly recommend Caledonian Backpackers!
