We stayed here during the festival season and paid about 90 Pounds a day for a private double room. When we arrived at 4.30 pm, the room was not ready. At 7 pm, they gave us the keys to a room which was already taken. The rest was ok, but nothing more.

Centrally located in Princes Street. Very near to walk from Waverly Station (where train arrives from London) and also near to all food and shopping outlets. However, the downside is , no lift available and all guests must walk the stairs to the top to check-in. Guy at the reception is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a room for... More

This hostel was overpriced for what it offered. We visited Edinburgh during the fringe festival and therefore came across overpriced hostels and not much availability. The staff were friendly and helpful, the kitchen was well stocked and the common room was big enough with a couple of computers for use (you have to pay) and wifi is NOT free and... More

We stayed at a shared 4 bed mixed dorm, we did have a lock on our door but individual personal lockers were not provided even though the hostel booking website had claimed these are in all rooms. Bathroom was very clean every day, and so were the toilets. Room gets vacuum cleaned every day. All the staff was friendly and... More

When we arrived in Edinburgh we had a difficult time finding this hostel, it was not located directly on Princes St. When we found it, we came upon the infamous stairs. Now when we were choosing the hostel, we read there were lots of stairs, but didn't realize lots meant 80 stairs. (not exaggerating) Other than the stairs, the hostel... More

Before I review this I think it's important to note that we payed £13 a night each for a four bed dorm. This gives you an idea of what to expect. Yes the paint was peeling of the wall but the showers and toilets were clean as was the sink in our room. The staff were friendly and there was... More

Do not stay here unless it is all you can afford, bed and pillows are old. The bathroom is decently clean enough, but bring your own towel even for the private rooms. Location is excellent. Stairs up were not too bad.

The close up to the hostel has a pub at the bottom, and a mans social club on the second floor. to get to the hostel you have to go past these and we found some very drunk men lingering about the close smoking, which was not too pleasant. Rooms were dingey and not particularly clean. Shower room on our... More

I feel an actual sense of revulsion as I write this review. I am currently writing a letter to the Scottish Tourism Board and the Enviromental Health at the council. Where on earth to start? OK, let's start at the 'front door'. The hostel is located in the arse-end of the town, where the drunks and druggies hang around, and... More
