I booked a single room for 55£ per two nights. The location is not in the old town but it is close to the city centre (15 minutes by walking crossing restaurants and english pubs). Breakfast was included and in addition coffee, tea and biscuits self service in the room. I cannot forget the kidness of the owner. I could... More

Had I known beforehand what kind of place this "hotel" was no way that I could have approached this place from a mile, let alone sleeping here - that horrible and disgusting this place is, in my opinion. I only stayed here in between other booked places that I have booked in a very busy period in town. This is... More

We stayed at the Claremont Hotel in early November as we went to see Deacon Blue/Ricky Ross nearby. The hotel although very basic was value for money, clean and comfy. The owner was very helpful and friendly the only downside was the 84 stairs from the basement/bar to our room on the top floor. To make it for that the... More

Stayed one night in this hotel. £105 for 2 adults and one child. Room was clean and basic , old fashioned but fitting with the age of the building. However the beds were terrible and uncomfortable , most uncomfortable bed we have ever tried to sleep in. Staff were helpful and breakfast was lovely , within walking distance to playhouse... More

Apart from inconsiderate people coming back late(it was a Saturday night)the hotel was quiet. Breakfast was decent too. Help yourself to cereals and juices, cooked brekky brought to your table... Stayed here for a weekend as going to fringe/tattoo. Quite easy to find and had its own car park at the back. If you park in car park there is a steep flight of stairs to go up, but this is only due to the typical old style Edinburgh buildings, so park at front first and unload your belongings.also no... We stayed here for two nights whilst attending the British Open at St Andrews. The hotel is set back in a lovely crescent and is very deceptive from the outside as it is much bigger on the inside rather like a TARDIS. The room was average, the window would not close properly and the bathroom was big enough for a... More
