We were visiting the area and tried The Riccarton Inn based on a personal recommendation. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was good with generous portions and was nicely presented. There were plenty of choices on the menu so, as we were staying locally, we returned the following night and the night after that too. Very enjoyable.

Great food, generous portions, friendly "local" atmosphere. Gets very full some evenings so good idea to book first. Huge car park a bonus, good for disabled visitors, all on one level. Imaginative and frequently changing menu.

My partner and I stayed here for one night. The room was wee and cosy with comfy bed and smartly decorated. Tea and coffee facilities and a wee tv. The shower was good but the steam makes the tiled floor in the little ensuite slippy. We couldn't switch off or turn down the radiator so had to sleep with the... More

Stayed one night and had dinner. Staff very welcoming. Room was a bit tired (I did hear mention of a refurb), but comfortable. Food was excellent, would be 5/5. Thoroughly recommend the Ham Hock pie. Nice pint of Deuchars IPA. Breakfast good.

Nice pub with a good range of beers and spirits. Bar staff could be a bit more pleasant and chat a bit more. Felt a bit like an outsider when I was in having a few beers. Other than that, the atmosphere is pretty good and I have certainly been in a lot worse.

Family celebration so I booked a table just to be sure as it can get busy, even midweek. Food was very tasty and everyone cleaned their plates (bar one, and only cause the portion of steak pie was mighty)!! Bit disappointed their legendary cheesecake had run out but Luca's ice cream went down a treat with everyone. Will definitely be... More

Decent menu, plenty choice. Good atmosphere in the busy bar. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Been a few times now and never been disappointed. Staff always willing to please. Handy place to stop off if walking or cycling on the water of Leith walk way. Well situated for buses.

Today we were charged £2.95 for coffee. Noticed that menu in garden listed coffee as £2.55. Drew attention to discrepency but told that was an old menu. No offer to ammend/ refund difference. On leaving menu at front door also list price as £2.55. Staff not welcoming, had to ask for tray to carry coffees to table. Will not visit... More

We arrived, we got served, we ate and we left. Not a word spoken by the staff apart from taking our order. Average food.... ok fish and chips but the ham hock pie was poor, slow service. Second and last visit for us.
