3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here for 1 night on Saturday night 21/03/2015. The purpose for being in Edinburgh was to attend the 6 nations match versus Ireland. I am used to prices being hiked during the 6 nations, but £211 for 1 night for a tiny little room, with no breakfast is just a complete rip off! Breakfast, if pre-booked was an... More

I would say that the best things about this hotel are the short walk to Princes Street, the friendly staff and the attractiveness of the building itself (a former Maternity Hospital). I requested and obtained a room on the upper floor which was clean and reasonably spacious. The bath was very short and the water took forever to run but... More

Dear Jo S Thank you for staying at Edinburgh City Hotel and reviewing our hotel I was disappointed to read that some of the dishes in the restaurant for dinner were not to your likeness and was not to your standard. I am sorry to hear that size of the bath and problem with water in your room deferred your... More

This is my third time to stay here in the past two years and I felt it deserves a good mention. The location is great for the city centre. The hotel is very nice - rooms are big and airy - It was originally a maternity hospital. Breakfast is pretty good too. I have to say the outstanding thing about... More

Stayed for one night in this hotel and found it to be excellent, the staff were friendly and very helpful. My partner and I would defo recommend staying here. The rooms were clean and spacious. The only fault was that the noise from the bar at 3 am was quite loud as we were in a downstairs room but as... More

So glad we found this treasure of a hotel amongst the chains out there. We stayed there for three nights for our first visit up to Edinburgh. Room was spacious, clean and very well decorated. Bathroom was fantastic with immediate hot water, powerful shower, clean, spacious and stylish. The exterior architecture and look of the building fits in very much... More

The hotel staff was very polite and everything was well taken care of. Easy stay in a very lovely city. If you come in to Edinburgh Waverly station it may take a bit of time to find the hotel, but the city isn't too large so a map will do you good. The rooms are fairly good even though we... More

Apparently this used to be an old Maternity Hospital so the building itself is quirky and characteristic. The rooms have a clean modern and chic look to them, small but compact and most certainly packs in all the necessities for a short stay and great to have a kettle with tea/coffee and plenty of milk for a wee cuppa whenever... I'm stayed here for celebrating the New Year's eve, or they've called Hogmanay. The location really near from market area; to buy some stuff, like Sainsbury's or Boots. I used to walk for visiting the Edinburgh Castle, Camera Obscura, and Grassmarket. Both places took around 15 minutes to reach from this hotel by feet, although there is bus stop on... More
