The hotel is handy for the city centre, but is on a busy road near a major hospital. Be prepared for all night noise from drunks and ambulances. The rooms are OK, but the dining area is dark and dismal. Breakfasts are cooked to order, and adequate. more

I stayed here last week for four nights on business, and have to echo what many other reviewers said: this is a great hotel, but you really do get the noise from passing traffic and from revellers passing at closing time. If you can live with that, and with the fact that there is no air conditioning (at least not... more

We stayed during New Year holidays in this hotel for 2 nights. I somehow got a good deal at the last moment as everywhere else was full due to New Year festival in Edinburgh. To my surprise, the room was quite big and had nice furniture. This one was just above reception on the first floor. Its located 15 minutes... more

The booking was made by our group leader, however checking the Google Street images alarmed me. The photos show a really grubby exterior and made me worry that the wrong choice had been made. The hotel website gave no information on parking so I e-mailed and received a polite and swift response assuring me that there was parking nearby. On... more

Stayed here on Friday in a double room. The staff on reception were friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and very clean and modern with flat screen telly, tea/coffee etc. Nice big bathroom. All in all a very good nights sleep. more

After reading some reviews i thought this hotel was going to be a kip, but it was the oposite. Room was fab it was on the 4th floor, massive & really modern decorative. Looks like it was done up quiet recently, with couch, table & with a plasma TV. Our room was very quiet no sound from the road as... more

This hotel is really nice, helpful staff, nice breakfast with plenty of choice and best of all the location. You could walk to everything which was really good. Near all the sights that you need to see. The only thing that really let this hotel down was the noise outside. Everynight felt like we were sleeping in the middle of... more

Power problems when I booked in on night 1 so coudn't get into my room until 2 hrs after arrival. Still no power in the dining room in the morning and no heating on night 2. Cold dining room, cold bedroom and cold public areas. Not their fault but nothing offered to help guests. Told on check out that electric... more

Stayed for two nights at a meeting in Edinburgh. Check in staff really friendly and helpful. No complaints about the room. Large, comfortable and clean. No iron/ board but appeared rapidly when I asked for one. Wireless internet but poor signal in room so spent a lot of time in reception. Full scottish breakfast nicely cooked- really good. Main complaint... more
