This is a well run Holiday Inn with well trained friendly staff and comfortable rooms. We had a suite on the carpark side which was spacious, quiet and very well appointed. Lots of buses stop outside and you can be in the city centre in 15 minutes for £1.30. Breakfast was the normal buffet, with a reasonable choice. Only scrambled eggs though... More

Dear Reviewer Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us. Whilst I was extremely pleased that overall you had enjoyed your stay and had been suitably impressed with the service and quality delivered, I was dissapointed the quality of the fried eggs in the restaurant were not up to our usual high... I have visited this hotel and stayed on many occasions. It is absolutely my preferred choice when staying in Scotland on business. The hotel is not too big or too small, pleasant, clean, tidy and the staff are very nice and always endeavour to be helpful. Great value for money, food breakfast and a nice bar and restaurant. Free parking... More

The hotel is situated in an ideal spot for travelling into the city centre. There are plenty buses and taxis. The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are clean and well laid out Staff were very friendly but there were not enough of them in the bar when it was busy and the breakfast was the same as... More

We stayed here for one night while visiting Edinburgh during November 2011. The hotel is a fair bit away from the city centre but would be well served by bus routes. It is a mordern and clean hotel and decent prices can be found, You can get great views towards the ciy centre from the higher rooms. There is plenty... More

This hotel was our first stop during our Contiki tour. The room was nicely furnished, front desk staff was very friendly. The breakfast was well stocked and delicious. The only downside was that you have to pay for internet/wifi.. very expensive. Good location (although quite far away from the Old Town- easy to catch a bus though) with great views... More

Easy to find when traveling from the north. Good base to explore Edinburgh. 5-10 mins by bus to Princess St. Pros: clean, quiet, comfortable bed, handy for 41/43 bus into city center. Cons: nothing really. Hints: if you don't fancy paying for breakfast in the hotel there are 2 superstores within 2 mins walk with good breakfast selections. Museum of... More

The Holiday Inn City West is a well priced and well located hotel. The staff are pretty friendly and polite and the service is good too. I liek that as a Holiday Inn rewards member you get the proper "holiday Inn experience" you've come to expect here. Its worth mentioning that the rooms on the front of the hotel especially... More
