Was worried after reading some poor reviews but was pleasantly surprised! We had no problems at all. The staff were all polite, helpful & friendly.Mealtimes were well organised with prompt service & staff frequently checking that customers had everything they wanted. We had requested a quiet room so no trouble with excess noise. The pool/facilities were functional rather than luxurious &... more

Stayed over the bank holiday weekend at the end of August. Having read other reviews on TripAdvisor I requested a quiet room - full marks to the Roxburghe for actioning this as we were allocated a room looking into the central quadrant of the hotel so there were no external noise issues - the one issue though was that our... more

The hotel is clean and the bed is comfortable if you can sleep long enough. George Street can be noisy even on a week night. I had to use ear plugs because of the noisy people shouting obcenities at each other 'til 3 am! more

Top level cosy hotel, with everything for every possible need - beauty centre, gym, party hall. Room and bathroom properly clean and tidy. Overall warm atmosphere and staff was uncomparably helpful and efficient. more

Who is ever in charge of the dinning room in this hotel is awful. Staff running round, short staff i think. No juice had to wait ages for tea and coffee, as our server if we could speak to the restuarnt manager and was told oh he is running late all in all not a good job more

Stayed at this hotel over the bank holiday. the bus from the airport stops just a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is in an Ideal location just around the corner from Princess Street. Our room was spacious and modern. It was lovely and clean and the bed was to die for :-) The breakfast was buffet style -... more

I stayed here on a Sunday night in August with my son, as we were going to a number of Fringe shows. I booked online no more than 2 weeks in advance, and with other similar hotels trying to charge over £200 per night, I got a room for £84. We didn't bother with breakfast, we're not really morning people!... more

We booked this as a bit of a treat and paid more than we usually would. However in future I'll probably stay somewhere less grand for two nights rather than the Roxburghe for one. Pros: -The rooms were clean and a good size - the bed was MASSIVE and I had a great nights sleep -Good central location -Nice breakfast... more

I read previous reviews so opted decided not to book the cheapest room available and went for the next level up. I booked a month in advance. As we were staying 4 nights when we arrived we were told that we were being upgraded, although I think it was actually just a larger version of the room we had booked.... more
