Our 4th visit to Kildonan Lodge, we love the warm ambiance, the friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Stayed in lodge 1 this time, love the new bathroom. Thanks, see you all next year. George and Ellie, Yarm.

We stayed for one night. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. We booked the executive double room which, with the exception of an off-putting dark line where the carpet met the skirting boards, was clean and comfortable However, as it was in the basement, it seemed dark and dingy regardless of the decor. We saw your reply to a... More

We recently took a weekend trip to Edinburgh, and I had a really difficult time finding an affordable place that could cater for 3 adults and 1 child for 2 nights. Luckily, Kildonan Lodge had 2 rooms available at what I thought was a very reasonable rate. The lady who took my booking went out of her way to figure... More

I and many of my colleagues have used this hotel for many years as it is convenient to our business address. The staff are always excellent, welcoming, friendly and professional. The rooms are in very good order, the breakfast is a good size and the dining room, in this lovely old house, is a very pleasant place to eat. I... More

Stayed two nights, that was more than enough. All the staff were excellent, very attentive polite and nothing was too much trouble. Award winning chef I don't think so, we were not impressed at all with any of the meals. The hotel itself is in dire need of some TLC. The only other positive I would give is the location... More

We just left after 2 nights there and wished we were staying longer! While our room had the squeakiest floor we have ever heard, our experience there was excellent. We are a family of four (incl two young teens) and had the green tartan bedroom. The kids' beds were very comfortable, as was the lovely (but squeaky!) four-poster bed. The... More

Charming staff, pleasant rooms, lovely garden. Kildonan Lodge is a good base for seeing Edinburgh, and perfectly good value for a city hotel. We walked into town sometimes, and sometimes took one of the many buses that stop near the hotel. When we arrived, one of the cleaning staff had obviously spilled carpet shampoo or similar on our floor in... More

Kildonan Lodge is a small hotel comprised of a main building and adjoining lodge, situated in a quiet residential part of Edinburgh but well connected to the town centre by a number of buses. My double room for single use (there are no single rooms) was spacious and very comfortable with a well appointed bathroom with high quality toiletries. Breakfast... More

We were well pleased with everything at the Kildonan Lodge Hotel. Our room (#6, petite four poster bed) was comfortable with a pleasing view of the back garden. Good quality mattress and comfortable sized, modern bathroom. The sherry and shortbread on arrival was a very nice touch. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the lovely dining room and also relaxing and... This small hotel is well placed just 1.5 miles from the city centre. The room was well appointed and clean, with a particularly comfortable bed. The restaurant food was high standard and the service efficient and friendly in both the hotel and restaurant. We will return on our next trip to Edinburgh.
