Kildonan Lodge is one of a number of B&B hotels close to the University. From the outside it is unremarkable. Inside it is the epitome of warm Scottish hospitality. Welcoming décor, clean and pleasant bedrooms, excellent breakfast menu and even midday sandwiches and mineral water made to order on arrival. The pleasant and helpful staff made this one night trip... More

We stayed here 2 nights, we were greeted by a lovey Canadian man (sorry I have a terrible memory for names) who was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Gave us a hand with our bags and some suggestions for restaurants near by. The rooms and bathrooms were on the smaller side, but still cosy and charming, bed was very comfy.... More

Staying in hotels for business can be a bit of a lottery but this hotel was a good find. The room was quite big with a large double bed and nice en-suite. Unusually there was a decanter of sherry in the room to have with the biscuits! Not really my drink, sherry but a nice gesture and I did try... More

My wife and I and our son stayed here for 4 days to celebrate his 7th birthday. On arrival we were given a very friendly greeting by Sean and shown the dining room and lounge both of which looked clean, tidy and not to say quite impressive. We were then shown to our room on the first floor, No.8. To... More

We've used the Kildonan Lodge Hotel several times whilst visiting Edinburgh over the last couple of years. It's always been a comfortable and welcoming hotel with a lovely lounge, honesty bar and an elegant breakfast dining area. Rooms are pretty good though, admittedly, some would benefit from just a little investment. Certainly, we've never had any issues and we've stayed... More

We stayed in November for 4 nights. We booked one of the superior king size rooms and were shown a room in the newer building to the rear of the main house. Lovely spacious room with comfy bed (just a shame there was a dip in the middle due to it being 2 singles put together) I would invest in... More
