Met by friendly and helpful staff member. Had a 3 bedroom apartment on the fourth floor. No lift so had to carry bags up stairs. Staff member helped. Very well appointed and comfortable, renovated apartment. Two bathrooms and large bedrooms. Quiet and great view. Baggage storage on ground floor so could leave bags on last day until catching airport tram... More

If your in Edinburgh for a long weekend and you are part of a large group (suited to Stag/Hen Dos) then this is perfect. Huge living rooms, plenty of nice clean and spacious bed rooms, decent bathrooms with amenities and towels. And a very functional and clean kitchen. Pretty much in the centre of town, a great place to use... More

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were all friendly and helpful. It's a well-presented modern apartment, in a perfect location to see the city. That said, we were surprised that some things were not in good repair and the apartment was not as clean as it first appeared. The dishwasher door wouldn't shut, meaning it couldn't start, until I'd... More

I was in Edinburgh for the Moonwalk. My flight was delayed, but was told this was no problem and to call the number on my arrival at the airport and someone would meet me at the apartment. I finally arrived at 9.30pm. The apartment was ideal for what I required, equidistant from the city and the start line for the... More

Appartement was comfortabel. We stayed with 3 of us and had lots of space. There is Tesco nearby and pubs and restaurants. Prince Street is few minutes walking so the access to the center is perfect. Highly recommended.

It is an outstanding place in the centre of Edinburgh to stay. At a really great price I defiantly recommend it. We were on the top floor and have the best views around. On a clear day you can see the forth road bridge.

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighborhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighborhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicenter Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
