It was a very beautiful apparment that just completed our stay in a very beautiful city. We as group felt very home in every perspective. Tea and coffee stood in the kitchen. We felt very welcome and would stay there always again!

The apartment is well equipped for large groups , 5 bedrooms so plenty of space for everyone , location to all amenities is very good, close enough to walk to the main attractions that the city has to offer. Centrally located in the heart of Edinburgh, this spacious apartments is an ideal accommodation for a short stay or long stay in the city. Stayed there for two days with my friends in January this year. Very clean and comfortable place and has excellent facilities. Highly recommend!

Our family stayed at York Place for my sister's wedding and couldn't recommend it more. Clean, bright, great location. Amazing views from the bedrooms, too. Great office staff who were flexible about check-in time and who even arranged for a mid-week clean for the apartment. Thanks very much!

We took two apartments this weekend as we were up in Edinburgh for a Christmas party celebration. The places were great - absolutely huge in every respect, we slept 6 in one and 10 in the other. The kitchens are very well fitted out, complete with the always essential dishwasher, and the places were clean and tidy. Comfy beds, and... More

Can't recommend York Place enough. We were met at our specified arrival time by very friendly staff who gave us our keys and allowed us to leave our luggage until the apartment was ready. The apartment was very spacious, clean and modern. There were plenty of towels left for our use as well as the basics such as toiletries, tea... More

A group of 19 of us stayed across the two apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floor for the Halloween weekend. If you are a big group you should absolutely stay here. Location was superb, communication with Suzanne for booking arrangements was outstanding, value for money was second to none and the standard and facilities of the apartments were fabulous.... More

The location of these apartments are perfect, sitting directly opposite the bus station and adjacent to end of the tramline that takes you directly to/from the airport. Princes Street and Waverley Train Station is about a 5-10min walk and St James Shopping Centre is literally over the road. And the the best advantage of its location is its proximity to... More

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighborhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighborhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicenter Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
