My partner and I just spent a night at the Cairn Hotel Edinburgh. We stayed in the annexe across the road and found it to be really good, certainly a step up from the previous nights accommodation. The room was ENORMOUS with one double and three single beds even though we only booked for two people (room 25). The room... More

The room was adequate as a place to sleep. Good location approx 10 minutes walk from railway station & Princes Street but was very quiet as our room looked out over back yard. It was all very shabby & basic, toilet/shower room had mouldy grout on tiles. Free toiletries. Kettle, hot drinks & packets of shortbread in room. Wifi was... More

I stayed here before an early morning flight. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Waverley station. The room was comfortable but it is like a journey through a maze to get to it. The only bad thing about the room was a piece of electrical equipment in the room whose purpose I never found out which emitted a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights a few weeks ago in the annexe across the road. The room itself was clean but the bathroom was full of mould the hair dryer was very very old fashioned and the TV remote had no back on it and instead was covered in sellotape. It was very shabby and we nearly fell down... More

Had a very enjoyable weekend in Edinburgh for the Midlothian music festival. This hotel is ideally placed for transport links and a short walk to Princes Street and the North/South Bridge to the Royal Mile. My room was small but comfortable, the bed was great with plenty of pillows and the loo/shower room had plenty of towels and free toiletries.... More

I had booked Cairn hotel for my stay for a week in July 2013. The place is really good. It was clean at all times, the staff were really friendly and not to forget that it is a great value for money too. Room was lovely, spacious and the shower room was perfect. The main highlight is the location of... More

Stayed here for 3 nights during the festival. Bargains are hard to find at this time of year and I would be aggrieved if I had stayed here for a comfortable, relaxing, romantic break. But for a well located, clean and safe hotel in the city you may be hard pushed to find better places to stay. It does look... More

Very friendly staff. Rooms nicely decorated with everything you need - a bit on the small side but was perfect for a place to stay. Nice little bar downstairs which suited our group of 8 and meant it was nice and quiet and was easy to be served. Taxis booked when asked. 8-10min walk from the station Good if you... More

This is a very simple, basic hotel. Our room was in the modernised section, which was fine, if a bit stark. The corridors in the unmodernised parts were very gloomy and old-fashioned. But this hotel is near to everything central, or within a 10 minute walk.
