Edinburgh was a great city to walk around the hotel was close enough to the city center but not so much that it was loud during the evening. I stayed on the second floor and although it was a bit of a maze getting to the room it was worth it. A nice big window made for great natural light... more

Location of the hotel is excellent for all amenities in the city centre, altho off the main streets so still quiet. Reception - friendly, helpful and informative. Breakfast - newly decorated and clean - excellent breakfast! Bar - reasonably priced and well stocked. Our Room - Large and clean with everything you need altho in need of some decoration (we were... more

I spent 1 night here. After walking around Edinburgh all day, I checked in and was going to go walking again, but since I was sick I decided to take a nap instead. Turns out that was a good choice. About an hour later, I jumped up from my sleep to the sound of someone opening the door to my... more

As far as the singles go it's fine. Despite a lot of bad review for this hotel on the web site I found it to be good value for money and have no complaints. As far as a value goes i'd say it's one of the best "budget" hotel's for singles I've seen in Scotland. Right beside the "Theatre area"... more

I stayes there with my primary school class but not for long we stayed for one night and had two meals there and were less than impressed. Our trip was a week long but we had to move to the 4 star Thistle hotel (definately would recommend) because on the second day the front of the hotel collapsed hense the... more

We stayed in a family room for 4 adults with one king size bed and 2 single beds. The room was really spacious and the toilet was basic. The shower didn't work too well and so we shifted to using the bath on the second and third nights. The breakfast was impressive with a wide choice of hot food, toasts,... more

I've stayed for three nights at Cairn Hotel in Edinburgh. Although the building and the furniture were quite old, it was clean and the service was great! Its greatest plus is its central location. Value for money, indeed! more

I got a double room here for £29 so can't complain about the price! The hotel is cheap and cheerful with decent facilities for the price we paid. The location is 10 minutes from Waverley station but it is constantly downhill for the duration. Even as a fit 21 year old, I found the hill back up into the City... more

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend in Edinburgh with my girlfriend. I choose this hotel because of its central location. After landing at Edinburgh Airport we walked straight out of the arriavls hall and on to the airport link bus which cost £6 return. We got off at the last stop which is at the main railway station... more

Excellent value for money. Great location, within walking distance of centre and railway station. All staff friendly and helpfull. Room reasonable size and en-suite was newly refurbished. Perhaps only criticism was that, although the room was basically clean, more detail could be paid to high level ledges, eg picture frames, lampshades etc. Breakfast was good in what appeared to be a... more
