What a crap hole. The pictures on the site we booked through showed the hotel as average. When we got there we had the shock of our lives. The place was dodgy and FILTHY! Here's why!: Filthy towels Dirty bathroom floor (nad not been mopped) Mouldy shower curtain The light in the bathroom had been nailed onto the mirror using... more

This hotel is extremely shabby and in desperate need of refurbishment. It was dirty and smelly. The room had so many things wrong with it including broken toilet seat, tiles falling off the shower wall, broken furniture in room, windows not opening, paint peeling off the walls and ceiling - you get the picture! Would strongly recommend going elsewhere than... more

DREADFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! The web site shows a well appointed room with a four poster bed. However the reality is very different. Very small dingy room with no view at the end of a maze of corridors. Room smelt stale and musty!!!!!. Single bed with cheap pillows and no mattress protector. Very old, tatty and dated decor. Could hear everything being said... more

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night, thankfully thats all it was. The paint was peeling off the whole ceiling, the shower curtain was mouldy, nothing was cleaned properly, why this hotel can charge the prices it does is a mystery, well in need of a refurbishment. Would not stay at this hotel again, Edinburgh is full of hotels to... more

We were well pleased with our week's stay at the Learmonth. Our room was large, beds weren't luxurious but adequate, cleanliness good, the location convenient, and the staff friendly and helpful. No, it's not a 5-star hotel but neither was the price. I found nothing "tatty" about the property whatsoever. I would gladly stay there again. more

The Learmonth Hotel is a 15 min walk down Queensferry Rd, not too far from City Centre by any means. Theres also a bus stop right outside the hotel that will get you into town quickly. My visit was for one night only, and it was adquate. I think I would have probs if I was staying more than 2... more

I stayed at the Learmonth Hotel in Edinburgh for one night and found it to be excellent accommodation for a short stay in the city. It is a 20 minute walk from the city centre in a nice quiet area. A taxi from Waverley Railway Station takes roughly 10 minutes to get there (Princes Road is busy!) or the number... more

On first impressions we were quite pleased. The hotel is situated in a nice area and the front and reception were nice. However the room was odd. It was huge which was good but maybe too big and bare whcih wasnt very inviting. The bed was a fold from the wall one which didnt meet the wall so you kept... more

Four of us had booked into the hotel for two nights as we were on a training course and the accommodation was booked through Expotel. The chap on reception could not seem to locate the key for the room that I was booked into and I was eventually given what I know now was the spare. On entering the room... more

OK! this is definetly not the Hilton! but it has an exceptional location (bus stops right in front of the hotel / 15 min. walking distance to Princess Street/The Mound) and is located in a more quiet neighbourhood compared to the Ramada on Princess Street for example. Room was clean and comfortable (single room / room no. 311), nothing fancy,... more
