We stayed at Mercure Edinburgh City during Easter Weekend in March 2013. The location is awesome, right on Princes Street which is in the middle between old town and new town. Plenty of pubs and restaurants in new town. Few mins walk from main bus stop (where airport link starts/ends). Our room had awesome view of the new town, and... More

My husband and I stayed in this hotel on our last night in Edinburgh on 1st April 2013. It's a very nice hotel. The hotel is located right in the city centre of the old town. Some of the tourist places are really walkable from this hotel. But if walking is not your cup of tea, there are plenty of... More

This hotel is in a brilliant location opposite the Scott memorial and upon arriving we were told we'd been upgraded to a castle view room. If the size of the room was an upgrade then I hate to think how small the standard rooms are. There wasn't room to swing a cat!! Having said that we didn't go to spend... More

welll sited in Princes st. Good value but dont drink in lounge. Has a great outlook but prices enormous . Nice place recommend. However you need to take a lift to bedrooms. This is controlled by a swipe card. Eventually mastered tis and were able to help some lost souls.Reception should tell you since it is a wee bit unusual... More

Just enjoyed a phenomenally good afternoon tea at the Mount Royal. Top quality, excellent service, more sandwiches, tea and scones than we could decently consume AND at £14.00 for 2, superb value by Edinburgh standards! - (actually £12.00 for 2 if you download the online voucher and present it when ordering). Afternoon tea can all too often be a skimpy... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights last weekend. Great location, close to the pubs, restaurants, shops etc. The room was smaller than expected but everything you could need, apart from a safe. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing! Few marks on the bed sheet but apart from that very clean. One thing I would say is... More

Chose this hotel due to its proximity to the train station and the attractions of Edinburgh. We really couldn't have chosen better. Ideal for being able to pop back to the hotel during the day to drop off our shopping or get warmed up (even in March Edinburgh was FREEZING!). The breakfast was lovely and we were lucky enough to... Used this hotel for a one night stopover. Was travelling alone and felt very safe and comfortable here. The staff were very friendly, the room was a single, clean and comfy. I had asked for a room with a view of the castle, which I got but was on the top floor where the rooms are recessed with a little... More
