This hotel has a very good, central location which was great for the purpose of my stay. I booked this hotel as it was one of the few that offered wheelchair access. It also is within pushing distance (just!) from Waverly station. Upon arrival I was confronted with a step; not too much trouble for me as I was travelling... More

This hotel worked fine for a weekend. Arrived by train, and Waverley station is just across the road. Tram and bus stops are also convenient for getting back to the airport. The hotel ticks the boxes ie clean, comfy, central location, OK food, and the room we booked had a good view over Princes Street to the Castle, but you... More

The hotel was clean, and the bed comfortable. Room was very nice looking. Was kind of warm, and no Air Conditioning. They did provide a fan. The room we had had a beautiful view of the castle. The street the hotel is on is very noisy (Princes), and not available for driving in a car (only bus and taxi). The... More

Lovely room on the 7th floor with a double balcony overlooking the town. Unfortunately the large wheel obscured the view. Not sure if this is a permanent fixture. The room was clean and comfortable. Very large bed, small table and chairs, a sofa and a flat screen TV. Bathroom with bath and shower over. The negatives, very noisy vent in... More

We arrived late but were greeted by friendly staff, offered breakfast at a discounted price. Room was with a view of the castle and Christmas fayre. Unfortunately we were not informed that there was a Christmas work party on the night we arrived and went on till late which we weren't impressed with. On further inspection of room we found... More

For an international Conference, I stayed 5 nights. I wanted to stay another 3 nights, on private conditions. However, the reception of the Hotel did not act adequately on my questions, whatever I tried to get my problem solved, That's a pity

What accommodating accommodations! We'd taken the Caledonian Sleeper and arrived at the hotel at 8 am. Not only did we check in early, ie immediately, but we got a newly-refurbished room! Brand new giant shower, great espresso maker, and lots of USB ports for recharging our many i-Things. I always miss shelves in British showers, but otherwise a total win.... More

We stayed for a long weekend in a superior room with balcony looking toward the Castle - an outstanding view. The location is great for exploring new and old town and the tram from the airport stops just outside. Generally the hotel decor is rather tired, but the bar & breakfast areas are clean and comfortable and staff were friendly... More

Great, friendly staff. Seemed to be lightly staffed and did not see a concierge to ask about tours, local information. Room was clean and adequate. Bar area was relaxing with friendly staff and great view of Edinburgh Castle.
