I booked an Editor's Suite for a romantic night for my girlfriend and I (she became my fiance that night though!). Arrival was great, the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The room was pretty good too, decent size, views and a healthy size of a bath - although they should re-enamel it. Speaking of the bath, here's my... more

What a brilliant hotel! We booked an "Editor's room" and were delighted with it. Our flight was early in the morning so we asked for an early check-in. Unfortunately that turned out not to be possible, however we were well compensated when we saw a bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket waiting for us in the room. Staff were... more

Located five minutes away from Waverly Station , two from the Royal Mile and Princess Street with views across the city the Scotsman Hotel is certainly in the heart of the city. The original newspaper headquarters has been beautifully transformed into this most luxurious of hotels - the marble pillars and stained class combines well with the modern sleekness of... more

We checked in on Friday afternoon and we were checked in straight away and everyone was very helpful. A porter showed us to our room and told us where the restaraunt, breakfast room and spa area was. The room was quite small for a Deluxe room, but all the amenities were brilliant! the bathroom was huge and so was the... more

Visit Edinburgh every Year and normally stop at the Raddisson, first stay at the Scotsman and would definitely go back. Stopped here for 4 nights and had a large room with a lovely view overlooking the Balmoral. The staff were friendly and breakfast was cooked to order which meant the food wasn't cold. Location is handy for the royal mile... more

Went on a last minute trip to Edinburgh for 2 nights. Booked the room on the way up using laterooms but later found out could have the same rate with breakfast by booking directly. On arrival at the hotel the room wasnt ready so we waited in the nice bar to unwind from the long drive. 20 minutes later the... more

We staid at the Scotsman for 2 nights over Valantines weekend in a corner suite for 1/2 price. What a fantastic room with a toilet and mini dining area with TV downstairs and a fantastic huge bed with plenty of space and large bathroom upstairs. The view of the Castle was a bonus also. The staff couldn't have been nicer,... more

We booked a discounted room on a Sunday night, but when the receptionist found out it was our anniversary, she upgraded us to a corner suite, no charge. We were paying half the room price and we received first class service the entire stay. Impeccable room with a view of Edinburgh, fab Cowshed toiletries and wonderful thick, heavy curtains to... more

My wife & I stayed at this remarkable hotel in Jan 09. From the greeting at the door to a 'pampered' check in we knew this was going to be something special. Then we got to our room - what can I say? absolutely fabulous, we had room 204 that overlookes the bridge. The room was massive, it had a... more

We stayed at The Scotsman on 17 January for 1 night. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so the concierge took our bags while we went for lunch and a wander around town. On our return the room still wasn't ready so we were offered a complimentary drink in the brasserie. Once we got to our room we were... more
