As a special Easter treat, I booked to take my daughter for Easter Afternoon tea at the Scotsman Hotel, billed as £25 for one adult and one child, including a regular afternoon tea for an adult and a child's afternoon tea to include jelly baby jelly, chocolate crispy cake, lollipop, child-friendly sandwiches etc. This is the first time I've taken... Checked in on Friday and were greeted by friendly staff who were keen to help with luggage. We were given an upgrade as we checked in so were very pleased with this. The staff are very friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. The wedding was on Saturday and I cannot in any way fault the way the staff carried... More

I travel a great deal with work and The Scotsman is one of my favourite hotels in the UK in which to stay, it has a boutique feel despite being large and the staff could not do more to make you feel at home. Wherever you are in the hotel, all feels ever so laid back but at the same... More

Me and my sister booked our mum into the spa for mother's day. We all thoroughly enjoyed our day using the spa facilities. We had an afternoon tea, and although initially embarrassed to be dining in our robes alongside the general public, we still loved all the treats! The restaurant ensured our request for brown bread sandwiches was honoured. Afterwards,... More

I booked a night at The Scotsman as a treat for my mum for Mother’s Day. I booked an Editor’s Room and requested one with a Turret Bath. Check in was seamless, Staff were very polite. The 24 Hour Room service is very useful. The menu isn’t extensive but is sufficient enough. The Privacy hatch next to the door is... More

Checked in for an 8 day start and was given an upgrade to a larger room! Staff was extremely polite and friendly. They make you feel like family! The location is superb for those wanted to easily explore the Royal Mile by foot; train station is also next to it. A fantastic experience and when we visit again, this will... More

This magnificent hotel in the heart of Edinburgh is a cross between Brigadoon and Fawlty Towers. There is something very quaint albeit dated about this hotel that is needed to be brought into the 21st Century. Whilst the staff are overly attentive, the hotel itself is looking a little dated. Im sure years ago it would stand up as one... More

This is the third time of staying at this hotel and as always the size and comfort of the room was excellent and really it is the excellent staff, in particular the concierge which really make this hotel stand out. Unfortunately on Friday night there was a loud party going on in a venue nearby and our room must have... More

We stayed 5 nights at this perfectly located facility. It was a wonderful trip. The concierge and desk staff were truly wonderful to work with to make most of our first trip to Scotland. Room was beautiful and staff attentive to all our needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone

To be honest the hotel room was ok, the breakfast was ok, but this hotel and it's team managed to completely take the pleasure out of our first anniversary stay. As a surprise my brother in law had organised a bottle of champagne for our arrival as an anniversary gift. It didn't arrive, when he rang to ask if we'd... More
