I would recommend this hotel, in great location, is very clean, efficient and modern....I was staying over on business and out for dinner with Colleagues so was not expecting to actually be in the hotel very much. I was welcomed and offered a choice of rooms and was surprised at the extras in my room, Elemis toiletries, bottled water, free... More

Stayed here with a friend over the Easter break and thought it was brilliant. The location on Grassmarket is really handy for visiting the castle and the royal mile and plenty of nice restaurants and bars nearby. The food was nice, there was a really good selection of food (hot and cold) for breakfast and the bar meal we had... More

I made my first visit to the Apex City hotel in March 2011 (not June as stated, I left it far too long to review!), as a gift for my 18th birthday with my boyfriend. On arrival we were checked in straight away, which was before noon and great considering the website says it's 14:30! The lobby was gorgeous and... More

I can recommend this hotel as it is in a great location, is very clean and the staff are great....though the room we were in had a castle view it was very small. However, be warned, the Grassmarket is very very noisy and we could not sleep. The heating in the room was very warm and even though we switched... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your review, and taking the time to talk to my Duty Manager before you left the hotel. Unfortunately, even though our front facing rooms offer great views of the Castle they can sometimes be a little noisy at the weekend due to the Grassmarket being such a popular location. The next time you stay with... More

The best hotel where you can stay if you wish beautiful castle view, nice, spacy clean rooms and perfect service. The best starting point for walks around both New and Old Town, pretty close to everything you might wish to see and do. Highly recommended! More

We stayed here on two separate nights, before and after a 3 day tour of the highlands. The first night we had a nice big room and bed but not much of a view. But the bathroom had both a shower and a big tub (with complimentary rubber ducky which we LOVED), the internet was free and VERY fast and... More

Really enjoyed our 3night stay in the Apex. Location was great, castle view and everything in walking distance. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large & the bed was large & comfortable. The bathroom had a bath and separate walk-in shower. The breakfast was lovely. We would stay there again. More

Just returned from a fantastic weekend in Edinburgh, we stayed at the Apex City Hotel from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd April for a treat for my Birthday. On arrival we had been upgraded to a Castle view room which was really appreciated - thankyou. Lovely rooms, had everything you needed and plenty of room. Great location, friendly staff at... More

Excellent location adjacent to Edinburgh Waverley railway station. The Apex is well established and decorated to a high standard. The rooms are spacious with large super king beds and very good wet room style walk in shower spaces. Air con works well and the free internet has a strong signal throughout the hotel. Restaurant is good for communal dining and... More
