got a bargain deal on lastminute.com (around £80 per night). the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very nice and the toiletries were great. Location is brilliant for grassmarket pubs and restaurants (we ate at the grain store which was lovely) and you even get access to the leisure facilities at the apex sister hotel 100 yards... more

We stayed 4 nights at Apex City Hotel in Edinburgh. What a fabulous place with many unexpected positives! Without question we will stay here again and here is why. Although the room cost for 3 (2 parents 50+ and one teenager) was around 100 pounds a night, we could not have gotten better value nor mileage for our money had... more

Having paid over €150 for the night I was very disappointed with the stay at Apex City Hotel in Grassmarket. The room was very average in my opinion. Very small and not finished to a high standard, leaky shower etc. The heating in the bedrooms and upper floor corridors was excessively hot (to an unhealthy level!) and very difficult to... more

Last week my husband and I stayed at 'The Apex City Hotel'. Truth be known, I have never written a review about a hotel before, except directly to this specific hotel to deliver our thoughts and praise! Magda and all of the staff were friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and respectful! Our room was always very clean, tidy, and welcomed us at... more

We stayed in the Apex hotel for the St. Patrick's celebrations in Edinburgh. My sister booked it on the internet and got a very good rate for 3 night's B & B. The location is perfect, we had a view of the castle from our room and it was only a few minutes walk to the Royal Mile and Princess... more

Flights booked about 3 months ago, but in my (un)organised fashion left the hotel booking until 4 days before we were due to depart. After numerous internet searches came across this hotel - read reviews and proceeded to book via the Central Reservations. This was dealt with in a very friendly and efficient manner. Arrived at hotel and was met... more

The Apex City Hotel is a great hotel in a perfect location. Hotel staff is extremely helpful and the location can't be beat. Rooms are good size and you have a separate shower and tub in the bathroom. The castle is within walking distance and there are many bars and restaurants around. The sightseeing bus has a stop across the... more

We had a short stay at this hotel for my 50th Birthday...On arrival we were greeted by friendly helpful staff, we had been upgraded to a superior room and given a voucher for a birthday drink. Our room was bright airy and very clean (I'm very picky). We did not have a safe in our room on arrival but one... more

This is a lovely hotel in a great area. One of the best we have stayed in in Edinburgh. Our room at the back was very clean and quiet with a great shower as well as a bath. The Scottish breakfast (including for once a vegetarian option)is cooked to order, and after years of eating buffet breakfasts it made us realise how... more

My husband and I spent 10 days in Edinburgh at the Apex. The location is great, in an area that is very close to the castle and near some great restaurants. The room was very comfortable and clean. A room in the back of the hotel is probably best because the area in which is located can be a bit... more
