A niceish hotel in a fabulous location, as long as you remember it is in the grassmarket! The public areas are all well maintained and in good condition and the staff were nice and helpful. The 4th floor room was quite big and well lit by huge windows - this is where the hotel belies it's 1960's office block origins... more

After 2 times Apex City hotel, London, I decided to take Apex again in Edinburgh ( they have 4 hotels there, crazy ) and I was very pleased by the service of the staff. The hotel itself is very modern en located in very the hart of the city historical centre next to another Apex hotel. Rooms are very large... more

We had a nice room on the 4th floor, with views of the castle. Nicely decorated, and enough room for all our things. Our superior room has bottled water, pringles, and jelly beans (!), which were replaced each day too. (Free Wifi too). The bathroom was too dark, but had a separate shower, and bath which was nice. There is... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights in mid-June 2009. Upon arrival, the staff was courteous and polite, checking us in promptly and giving us an excellent packet of information on the local tourist attractions. The room we had was a decent size, and was very clean, with a view of the castle. The bathroom was... more

This was a perfect hotel for our stay in Edinburgh, it is in an excellent location in Grassmarket, near lots of nice pubs and restaurants. We had a room with a castle view and even at the peak time for noise outside, our room was quiet. Great shower (v important for me anyway!) and v comfy bed. I will second... more

the sister hotel next door has parking for 8 pounds a night; we were able to secure a spot each night; the front desk was very helpful; the in city-Avis location is walkable from here; we requested a quiet room and got it, an inside room; the Google pictures show construction, but that is gone now; bus tour pickup point... more

For work we usually stay here a couple of times a month and it's a really nice and clean hotel. Also the staff is helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for exploring the city by feet. Free wifi in all the rooms, however if the room is more to the back the connection might be a bit weak. I... more

We stayed at this hotel our first night in Edinburgh and had then gone to the Bonham (which is supposed to be one of the fanciest places in town) for our anniversary. However, I think the Apex City Hotel was just as nice. Our room was actually ready when we got there in the morning after arriving. The view was... more

this hotel is in a great location in the grassmarket area of the city. My partner and I got the flight link bus for £3.50 single to Waverly station and walked to the hotel (lots of hills but only 6 min walk). The hotel was lovely, clean, very well presented. the hotel room was lovely, however it was quite warm... more

The best thing about the hotel is the location. You do not have to taxi anywhere besides to and from the airport. Everything else is within walking distance - Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also has free internet which is a big plus. Would stay there again. more
