Just back in California after a great two-night stay at the Dunstane House in Edinburgh. I cannot say enough about the quality of the staff and their service ethic. The rooms were beautifully decorated with high-end finishes in a style that kicks the Victorian look up to 2014. All we had to do was ask and taxis would magically appear.... More

Boutique, heritage Hotels should not to be confused with international chains, as the traveler needs to be a bit more flexible with the process/surroundings. That said, the Dunstane has a consistent and accommodating staff, with the expected quality of services throughout. Gorgeous building/appointments, and well worth the rate. Do however, specify the main building.

We stayed at Dunstane Hotel from 23rd-26th August in room 102 and all we can say is 'WOW'. When we arrived we were welcomed by a very kind receptionist who even took our cases to our room for us, the hotel had given us a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. The four poster bed was very comfortable... More

The Dunstane Hotel ad at Orbitz described "a beautiful 19th century building, formerly a private residence" with 16 guestrooms. The pictures were gorgeous. We booked the room in June for an August stay. We later found on the internet that there is an annex building across a busy city street, not mentioned in the ad. We arrived early in the... More

First time traveling internationally so was great to have a first class yet small hotel with exceptional staff to make us feel welcome. Yes, our room was great, the food was outstanding but the staff was the best at every level.

Rooms are very small. Bed quality - the chipset ever! Bathroom small, shower glass broken, and the worst - the towels smelly of mould! We stayed in the building opposite the main building. To get to have breakfast you have to cross a very busy dangerous road. The room not only small, but very noisy. When people shower in one... More

The staff were lovely and helpful upon arrival as well as throughout our stay; chatty and approachable they were quick to help and get anything we asked for. The room was stunning and perfectly furnished; clean and tidy of course with plenty of space. The en-suite was adequate and also beautifully decorated; the waterfall shower was great and the water... My husband and I have just returned from this hotel. It is a hotel of two halves, the older part, and also where you register, is situated on one side of the road and the boutique town house is across the road. We were booked in by a delightful young lady named Caroline. She took us over to our room,... More

Excellent location, deluxe double bedroom on top floor very spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean, easy access for all parts of Edinburgh, staff very helpful and food good quality. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
