Booked this hotel as it was advertised as a 4* "Hidden Gem". What a let down. The hotel was tired and shabby with basic facilities, little ventilation (there was no air conditioning and bedroom windows had limited opening of about 3 inches) and the sole lift was out of commission. There was no hairdryer in the room and wardrobe space... more

This was poor value. Sold to our company as 4 star. Lift was broken on arrival, our rooms were third floor. The room was very small and cramped. The bathroom was equally small. The storage space for clothes was a cupboard for the ironing board with a rail to hang clothes on. There was no air conditioning and no hair... more

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfectly adequate but our room was quite small so we wouldn't have wanted any longer in it. Advantages - Cheap (averaged £100 per night b&b), clean, 3 mins walk from Haymarket station, good breakfast, friendly staff Disadvantages - small room, windows only open slightly so it was very warm, bar a bit... more

As a 1 night business stop over it was fine. Has very little character at all. Staff all efficient & helpfull. Room fine with adequate ensuite. Everything was very clean & tidy. Restaurant very good & food lovely. more

Stayed 3 nights recently during a longer overall UK trip. The hotel suffers from what I would term 'overly modern' appointments. Odd selections include no fan in the bathroom, tub with only one glass door covering only half the tub, so showering invariably leaves water on the floor no matter how hard you try and avoid it. A shower curtain... more

Hotel is small, clean and friendly. The breakfast consisted of great variety. We at ein the restaurant once and the food was lovely. It is well situated if you are happy to take a short walk or bus ride into the heart of the city. For a reasonable price I thought fascilities were more than adequate. The staff really made... more

Convenient location within easy walking distance to the city. Airport bus stop close by. Service in this hotel was the best we have ever experienced. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. Although the lift was not working, our bags were brought up to the room. We had difficulty booking accomodation in Pitlochry and staff at the Apex European... more

We travelled to Edinburgh as my husband was doing the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 31st May. On arrival staff were extremely polite but informed us that the lift was not working and that our room was on the fourth floor. We declined the offer of assistance with our bags and when we reached our room, we were immediately hit by... more

I stayed at the Apex while through on a training course. I arrived early but the extremely helpful reception staff were happy to store my luggage for me. My room was just big enough, was well equiped, a really comfy bed, a BIG plasma TV and a large walk-in shower cubicle. I had a great nights sleep and wasn't troubled... more

A good hotel, on the quiet side of the City but only a 20 walk to central Edinburgh. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfy. The hotel bar was very small so we chose to drink elsewhere but there are loads of place nearby. Overall, great for the price (rooms were on sale!). more
