Had a fabulous large room at the front of the hotel with large bay windows looking out over the park. Free internet in the rooms which is always a winner for me. Breakfast ok and staff very friendly. Good location right opposite the park. I walked around this in evening and saw every kind of sport and pastime. Very interesting.... more
I chose this hotel for the free parking. There are around 12 spaces and I was a bit lucky to get one. The hotel is easy to drive to and within walking distance of the Castle (15 – 20 minutes). I paid £10 extra (per night) for one of the better rooms. It was close to the hotel bar which... more
The Bedroom in question has since been completley refurbished, including a new bathroom suite as part of our ongoing and continued refurbishment programme. Work was completed 23/06/07.
It's taking a bit of a risk writing a review while still staying in the hotel but I know what happens after leaving other things take over and I really wanted to say how much I've enjoyed my stay at the Bruntsfield. They also provide free internet in the rooms so I've got no excuse! I've stayed in a few... more
first impressions of the hotel were promising with the receptionist being pleasant and helpful, we were not disappointed. The room was very spacious warm and comfortable with a huge bathroom. Breakfast was varied and tasty, with a buffet for cold and the hot food served to the table. No real negatives but my wife would have preferred more vegetarin choices... more
Booked through Laterooms at £75 b and b, for a hotel near to Edinburgh centre it's a bargain. The bedroom was excellent, with a bath and luxury bathroom/smellies, plus comfy bed and satellite tv channels. Breakfast was top class, and I chose haddock instead of the normal cooked English - a good choice. The hotel itself is lovely, and my... more
Been going to Edinburgh for many years now and always try to stay in different Hotels. However the Bruntsfield is without doubt the best we have stayed in. We booked a double and were given a Master Suite at no extra cost. Imagine our suprise and delight. Room fantastic, bathroom spotless, food in resturant great and not over priced, breakfast... more
I only booked this hotel because my friend was holding her wedding here and I was comming with my elderly parents. I thought to save any trouble traveling to the wedding we will stop over instead. And to honest it was the best decision I made. The parents were made comfortable with a great spacious room and ours smaller but... more
Would definately recommend this hotel from the minute we walked in nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room was spotlessly clean, large bed and large bathroom. The Bisque restaurant served excellent quality breakfasts and dinners. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk through parkland to the Royal Mile but for those who feel this is too... more
Hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities. Staff were helpful. Quiet location in a residential area overlooking parkland. The only downside is that it was a good 20-30 minute walk from the town centre, fine if you are fit and active but too far to walk with young children or for some elderly people. more
