My husband and I travelled in Scotland at the end of our honeymoon in January 2016. After travelling around Europe in hotels, this was the first serviced apartment that we had stayed in on this trip. It was a pleasant change. Upon checking in, we were taken to our room and every item was explained to us in great detail... More

My family stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The staff were lovely and the room was clean, secure, and had a useful kitchen. For the price our 2-bedroom, 3-bed flat had great modern furnishing and was a comfortable size for 4 people to stay a short time. The location was great for visiting Edinburgh castle and exploring... This was our third stay at the Knight Residence. The apartments are comfortable, modern, clean and are equipped with everything we need. They are within easy walking distance of the city centre, with plenty of restaurants nearby, and the added bonus of secure parking. The staff give a very warm welcome, the apartments are quiet, so we have always had... More

It is really lovely here. The apartments are so clean and there is everything that we need. It is so much better than a hotel. Charlie is a wonderful member of staff who goes over and above to make people comfortable.

What a wonderful apartment and friendly staff. A real home from home, equipped with everything you need. Even down to a canvas shopping bag for your groceries! There was a lovely welcome pack, which included bread, milk, butter and all the basics. I wouldn't even consider booking anywhere else if I were to return to Edinburgh. First class.

Excellent location, clean apartment and a friendly staff. Chris in particular was friendly and full of sightseeing ideas. It was especially nice to have a kitchen and washer/dryer. There are grocery stores within walking distance to stock up.

I've reviewed The Knight Res before (three years ago), and am happy to report that it's just as fantastic as it's always been! 5 stars for everything - the location, the amazing and helpful staff, the good-sized apartments, the amenities and the comfy mattresses. Can't wait to come back!

Great apartments 2 minutes from grass market and the castle, shops just outside, car parking great as was the service, everything you would need in a home away from home. we stayed for NYE and the manager even left us a little bottle of scotch and some shortbread to help with the celebrations !!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
