I stayed here for one night since I couldn't book my main Edinburgh hotel for that night. I ended up wishing I had booked at Knight Residence for the entire stay! The staff was extremely welcoming - I was escorted to my room and shown all the amenities. I was also given great directions for dinner and to my next... More

We stayed as a group of 4 girls at The Knights Residence for two nights over Easter. We had a fantastic stay and absolutely no complaints. Things we liked: - the space: 2 well equiped and spacious bedrooms, a large living area with dining table, spacious bathroom and well stocked kitchen - lovely staff who were well informed about Edinburgh... We stayed with our almost one year old daughter, and this was by far the easiest night of our holiday. They had everything sorted for us (cot, bedding etc), and the rooms were nicely arranged, and spotlessly clean. With the addition of a sitting room, we were able to have a friend visit us for tea, and once our daughter... More

Cannot recommend highly enough, great location, super service and apartments really well equipped. Special mention to Christopher on reception who managed to locate a charger for my friend who had lost her bag. Will definitely stay again

Enjoyed our stay in this apartment so much we extended our stay. Warm, inviting, and a wonderful staff. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in Edinburgh, and I plan on coming back in the future.

Please don't even consider a hotel when for only a little more you can stay in absolute comfort. Great location, perfect for a family or a few couples traveling together. Definitely check out the Blue Blazer Pub just down the street too!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
