Can't be more convenient: on main street, railway station 5 minutes, old town 5 minutes. Many rooms with a view (old town and Walter Scott Memorial). Clean, comfortable, have character.

We spent one night at this hotel, it was clean and centrally located, but mattress on the bed very lumpy and uncomfortable. Just as well it was only one night. When mentioning this on check out, we were informed that they are all currently being replaced.

Although I am glad to hear this guest found the hotel clean and central, I am sorry to hear they were not impressed by the matrress. However, to re-iterate my colleague, we are indeed replacing all the hotels beds and all will be complete shortly. Our guests are telling us our new beds are fantastic!

I stayed one night in December 2011, arriving late from the airport.
The welcome was kind and friendly.
The room (409) spacious for a single room, the bathroom nicely fitted and relatively new.
Very nice view of the old town.
Top location for train service (the station is literally next door), airport connection (the buses stop just down the slope)...
