I stayed here in October with my mom, the hotel was beautiful and situated in a great location. Staff were polite and helpful, the food was delicious and the restaurant was spotless. Would definitely stay there again

Our room was on 6th floor at the back [604] just about managed for the 2 nights we stayed. The room was small and claustrophobic and I don't think I would have booked it had I known this. But the location was excellent and the breakfast ideal. The bathroom was satisfactory. The reception staff very helpful and polite. I would... More

A wee night away was enjoyed at The Old Waverley, Edinburgh - on arriving before our due check in time we were met by very efficient, polite and pleasant staff who informed us that we could check in anyway. They advised us of times for breakfast and where to go for breakfast and our room. We went to the bar... More

Really enjoyed this place, very central to the sights, staff was pleasant, the food was fine in the restaurant for a hearty breakfast to start the day. Yes maybe not as chic as some, but very nice indeed!

We stayed here for a weekend in March 2015 for the 6 Nations rugby. The hotel is perfectly located on Princes St. Despite this, the room was quiet and had air con so was cool. The reception staff were very good, and the bar staff were very helpful. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment. However, the... More

It is great to read such positive comments about the Old Waverley and yet really surprising to see something negative about one of our bathrooms - I think this is the first time. nonetheless we will investigate why there was no hot water on this occasion - which I can confidently state is a"one-off" Leon Kiteley General Manager More

It was an offer I could not resist. Book dinner and full Scottish breakfast for 2 people, pay just £1 per person for your bedroom! This amounted to Euros 154.- for one night's stay and was worth every cent. We had a 5th floor (warm and cosy) room overlooking the castle. The dinner was served in the charming Cranston’s restaurant.... More

Had a pleasant two night stay in this Hotel - absolutely perfectly located if you're arriving by rail - and great for both the new town and old town. Freindly efficient service, a king size bed and a good traditional buffet breakfast. Would stay here again.

My husband and I and our college age granddaughter just spent ten days in Scotland. Quite by accident we discovered the Old Waverley Hotel in Edinburgh. Our original plan was to stay one night before we went up to Isle of Skye for a three day tour but liked the hotel so much we stayed there for the remainder of... More

Fantastic location if going by train. A NCP car park within walking distance. Room without a veiw (a brick wall) but could have upgraded. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast we had in our room for an extra £2 great option. Definitely stay again. Bed clean large and comfy.

I have never experienced such a poor version of afternoon tea. Quality of food was shockingly bad. The choice was 1 sandwich, 1 scone & 1 cake. All of which were incredibly dry and tasteless. I will never return.

My sincerest apologies for any lapse in standard of our, usually, wonderful Afternoon Tea - although we have not received any other similar complaints we do take such feedback seriously, an investigation is underway to establish what went wrong. Leon Kiteley General Manager More
