I stayed here for two nights for a business trip. Hotel is in an excellent location. Room very comfortable with incredible view of the castle. Edinburgh is having a new tram system layed in Princes Street and it won't be finished until 2011. If you are looking to sleep in - dont come here. It is noisy from early morning.... more

Attended a wedding in Edinburgh and was again bowld over by Scottish Hospitality. Hotel staff were great and let me use a bedroom to get changed, and then let me check in to my own room all before 12 O'Clock - excellent service! Rooms were very clean and reception staff were very friendly. more

Stayed two nights in this hotel, did encounter the rather abrupt young man mentioned in earlier reviews! Room was lovely, looking over Princes Street and the Castle, clean and comfortable. The residents lounge bar was nice with friendly staff and good food. Breakfast was plentiful but I didn't dare attempt to make toast in the ancient oven thing. more

We arrived and staggered up the stairs with our luggage to be greeted by probably the same brusque young man as an earlier reviewer encountered! Needs a little training in customer service, I feel! Our triple room was spacious, with twin beds and a double sofa bed. It appeared recently refurbished and looked attractive. However the mattress was very uncomfortable... more

We arrived after having walked up a long hill from the nearby car park (which had been recommended by the hotel) with heavy bags to find there was no porter and the Reception was up another two flights of stairs. A Reception we were met by a decidedly unfriendly male person and were allocated our room (twin bed) which was... more

Handicap I don't think so. Also indicated WIFI available but could not get in room and seratic even in lounge. Even with... more

My friend was charged £10 total at Travellodge... more

after checking into my room, i spoke to the desk clerk to say someone had been smoking in the room and when i opened the window to try clearing the air, i found cigareete butts and ash all over the windowsill. I asked them to please sort it out. I have just come back in. The room still smells of... more

My daughter and I stayed here on a leisure trip. The hotel was right across the street from the train station, so it was easy to get to. The room was very nice, well-appointed and clean. The breakfast was excellent. Our room overlooked the corner and had a very nice view of the castle. more
