Oh dear. I had been booked into the Old Waverley for a one night stay. The Old Waverley is a hotel with a lot of negatives. Gulps. So arrived on a cold November with some trepidation. But actually, the Old Waverley is not terrible. Not at all. It is not too bad and there are aspects of it that are... More

We stayed here for an awards ceremony that was across the street - view was absolutely stunning! Staff were really helpful and patient with us as we were a rowdy lot!! Food was good, breakfast a little disappointing but overall our stay was a positive one - would stay again.

The location of the hotel is perfect, you are on the main street a few paces from the shopping area and the old town. The hotel is very good, and the room was absolutely perfect, you have everything you may need. From my room i had an amazing view of the city. I will absolutely advise this place.

We stayed here for two nights on 14/15th November. The hotel wasn't as cheap as I know you can get it but that was because I booked it less than a week before we went and we took into account it was a Friday and Saturday night, so we didn't mind. On the phone I asked if it was possible... More

Stayed here on a short break having booked the room through a discount site. This proved to be astonishing value, the hote sites at the east end of Princes Street oposited the Scott Monument and is ideal a a city base, close to the train station, bus station and all the city transport links. The room was well appointed, a... More

I have stayed in Edinburgh on a number of occasions with work. When booking my last trip I stayed at this hotel as my normal one was booked out. The customer service was poor but as I was there for a short time I got over it. Recently a similar situation occurred and due to the short stay (two nights)... More

Clean rooms, nice breakfast, friendly staff, perfect location - particularly if you arrive by train. All at a great rate. We ve looked at other hotels but always come back to the Waverley. The semi illuminated sign outside the hotel does not do justice to what is inside. We have recommended this hotel to friends , who have stayed and... More

The old waverley is in a great place. We paid extra for a princes street view. Well worth it. It was a bit of a climb going up to reception but ok. The room was a good size and very clean. Breakfasts very good and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The floor in our room went a... More
