Great wee hotel, professional staff, lovely continental breakfast, lovely rooms. The only bad word my partner had to say was that the plug in the bath was difficult to get out!!!! In other words highly recommended :) I really did like it, however my only fault was the room service options were pretty poor but really this was a non-issue. more

Our room was the most spacious we've ever stayed in and had bags of storage space! It was clean and very comfortable and came with tea/coffee making facilities, iron, hairdryer, slippers, dressing gown, trouser press, ironing board, shampoo and soap, tv. The maid serviced our room everyday and we always had fresh towels, tea/coffee making facilties. The lighting in our... more

We just loved this hotel and felt there like home. We stayed 2 nights and received a so fantastic warm welcome from all the staff, the room was so cosy that we wished we had booked for longer. It is true, it's not "perfect", some furniture of the room was defect but we just felt as it was our home....... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night during the Edinburgh Tattoo, it was a more that we wanted to pay for one night but this was the cheapest accomodation available. We were in a double room and it was beautiful. There was a huge bathroom containing a bath, shower, toilet, two sinks and more than enough room to fit... more

Situated a short 10 minutes from the City Centre in a quiet side street - had a ground floor room at the front of the hotel but absolutely no traffic noise. Loved the huge, comfortable bed. Hotel is self-rated 4 Star but I think 3 or 3+ would be closer to the mark. Hope to come back again. more

Rooms inadequately furnished, shower lukewarm and they charge you a supplement for using a credit card! No manager to complain to and once you've paid the bill, they don't take phone calls or respond to emails. You have been warned! more

having visited lovely Ullapool on a business mission with my family we decided to break up our journey home to Newcastle with an overnight stay in Ediburugh. We rang the Albany hotel first thing that morning to find out if they could provide a family room for that evening. the receptionist was friendly and allocated us a family room for... more

They have a car park shred with other establishments, fist come first served. Reception was slow, very slow. Room was at the top, so one had to go all the way up, many stairs indeed. Room was large, had a lounge and separate kitchen. Good location. Not cheap. more

I stayed in a single room on the 4th floor. Room was small but nice enough for a one nighter. 10 minutes walk to the centre. Lovely decor, comfy pillows - had a hard and a soft one for choice. Breakfast was nice with a cereal, cold meat and cheese, fruit buffet. Cooked breakfast optional and about £6. or £3... more

We arrived and found the reception to be fine and our parking was available and secure at the rear. The hotel is several terraced houses amalgamated together. Our room was recently refurbished, on the ground floor and was large, clean and pleasant. The blinds do take too much light out of the room and the dark furnishings do not help... more
