Reception staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and efficient and the level of service generally and communication prior to arrival was of the highest order. Yes, though its location is ultra-urban.

Was booked to stay here through work, and I was dreading my visit based on the negative reviews. It really wasn't that bad. The decor is a bit crazy, it must have looked good at one time, but badly needs updating (the receptionist told me this is happening soon). The stairs could be a problem if you had a lot of... More

We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the city during the fringe festival. The hotel policy is that full payment is made 1month ahead of time for special events, ie full payment was made weeks before we arrived. When we arrived the girl at reception was very friendly and helpful. Parking was very limited and could not be... More

Stayed there on 11th September. A previous reviewer had commented on the shabby interior, chipped paintwork, stained upholstery. Well let me tell you nothing has changed. I wish I had read his review before making our booking. A room off the entrance hall serves as reception. Receptionist ended a very obviously personal phone call to deal with us upon our... More

The hotel is in a great spot for visiting the Edinburgh playhouses the Omi centre lots of bars and restaurants are nearby and is a 5 min walk from Princes St . It looks nice from the outside and has parking always a bonus in a busy city like Edinburgh .The entrance and foyer looks stylish on first look but... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here over night, first impressions, the room looked lovely! However I'm one of those people who like to inspect where I'm staying. I found a woodlice under the bed and food. Someone's long curly hair between my pillows and when I went to pop something in the bathroom bin, there was already toilet paper in... More

We stayed in a very large room, 411, of course lots of stairs and corridors to navigate since there is no lift. I've never been in a larger hotel bathroom. The location is excellent, about a block from the starting platform for the new tram which goes out to the airport, our reason for staying in that location. There was... More

I stayed for one night in an Executive Double En-suite Room (No. 210). I was very disappointed with several aspects of the room and the hotel's service: - The bath tap did not work - The toilet did not flush properly - The bathroom fan made a terribly loud rattling noise - The belongings of a previous guest had been... We stayed at this hotel with another couple, friends from Liverpool. Our bedrooms were nice, very modern and clean. However, the public areas of the hotel are a bit tired. The stair carpet in some areas is threadbare and dangerous. We were unaware that breakfast was continental, we were really disappointed not to have a cooked breakfast, keeping in mind we had... More
