This was such a pleasant surprise! We booked this hotel to stay in during the Commonwealth Games, as hotels in Glasgow were fully booked or too expensive, and certainly didn't regret it! The old fashioned and quiet luxury was truly lovely, and not too posh, as we initially feared. We were made to feel so welcome, even dressed in shorts,... More

The Royal Scots Club is a true gem in the heart of Edinburgh but in a discreet location away from the noise and a very reasonable price. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious with good ensuite facilities. The breakfast is very good too. We stayed here over the weekend for the Edinburgh Festival and as it is only... More

Lovely old charming building. My room was in one of the lower basement levels toward the street, however very quiet. The room was quite big with a spacious bathroom, comfy bed, great water pressure and tea/coffee making facilities. I was due to check out very early the next morning and would not have made breakfast however reception arranged for breakfast... More

This is set in a very pretty street. The service, breakfast etc were very good. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is charming. Hubby slept no problem. If however you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you unless you can guarantee a room to the rear. The traffic noise is very loud and... More

We stayed at The Royal Scots Club on the first four nights of our golfing vacation to Scotland. The hotel is well staffed and well appointed. The breakfasts that were included were spot-on. This hotel is in a lovely location, across the street from a large, private park. It is easy to walk to just about anywhere you would like... More

Stayed here for three nights whilst at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. It worked out cheaper than staying in central Glasgow. The hotel is in a good location on a quiet street 10 minutes walk from Princes Street. Our rooms were very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We only ate breakfast in the hotel as there are so many good... More

This hotel is in a very good location and extremely comfortable. The staff are very helpful and courteous. If I had not had an unpleasant experience at breakfast in the dining room I would have really rated it highly. The incident about the delay in service and lack of providing toast was dealt with most unpleasantly by the diningroom manager.

We had the most amazing wedding day at the Royal Scots Club on 25 July 2014, everything was perfect (even the weather). Ayesha Longley, Conference, Wedding and Events Co-ordinator was absolutely fantastic from the day we booked our wedding, she met up with us several times to ensure the day went without a hitch, prompt in responding to e-mails if... All I can say is wow. The venue itself is extremely central, but not in the hustle bustle. The building is stunning with the old Georgian look. The rooms have recently been decorated which gave it a new feel and I couldn't fault the cleanliness. Everything you could need was in the room. The food was amazing, both at breakfast... More
