i chose this spot because of their outreach and wanted to both support and experience Emmaus. The night we arrived, I was really sick with a cold. It was also my birthday. At dinner, both realities became apparent. And within minutes, there was medication for my cold and a birthday cake. Could not imagine how someone could come up witha... More

Just remembered I never reviewed this place from my 1 night stay in Feb. Have never stayed at a place quite like this before. It was very comfortable in every sense. I too enjoyed the opportunity to take part in the community, though this is not in any sense pushed upon. Breakfast had a real sense of community and interaction... More

we really enjoyed our 3 night stay here - they offer so much more than B&B. We had interesting discussions with other guests and rhe hosts who were most helpful in guiding us as first time visitors to Edinburgh. We also enjoyed brief prayer times together with fellow Christians. We are sure to return at some later date.

We really enjoyed our stay at Emmaus house over the new year. The welcome from staff was warm and genuine. Enjoyable evening meals with fellowship with staff and other guest. It was also lovely to be able to join the community in its prayer times and find moments of stillness and contemplation. Could not recommend more highly

Such a jewel of a place. So welcoming, I felt like I was at home among friends. The hospitality, the food and the the warmth of the Emmaus team and other guests and visitors all made a lasting impression.

Friendly and welcoming. Although I only stayed for sleeping purposes, I was looked after. The character of the building is only found in Edinburgh, and being born and raised in Edinburgh, found it very homely. Close enough to get around to wherever you wish to visit in the city by walking or buses/taxis.

When I first arrived Edinburgh, it is the Emmaus House offered a very comfortable and friendly environment for me. I can read books in the big sitting room, or have conversations with people from all over the world here, and most importantly, I can enjoy wonderful meals made by the Emmaus team. The living experience here soon eliminated my sense... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Emmaus House. It was like having a place to stay with an option of being in a community. The breakfast was simple and the conversation was delightful. Emmaus House was a nice walking distance from the most important sights which are also reachable by public transportation. There was some trouble with the wifi but... More

The staff provide a most excellent warm, hospitable and friendly welcome at Emmaus House. We felt looked after and thought about. Even our daughter (whom we had travelled to see) was invited to join in the community breakfast on the Sunday morning. The food is home made, is mostly fairly traded and wholesome. The room we had was of reasonable... More

So lovely to be back in Edinburgh again. Timed it just right for the Turner exhibition again! The warmth and welcome at Emmaus are second to none - Benedictine hospitality at its best - thank you all.
