The Malmaison Edinburgh is another excellent Malmaison property; though like its counterpart in Aberdeen its in a strange location; and it needs an refurbishment to bring it up to the standards of its northern brother. Arriving at night I do with Malmaison would put something on their hotels that tell you that you arrived; the Mal edinburgh seems to have... More

i always have nothing but positives to write about malmaison hotels, but it seems that the original really is the best in this case. neither me or my partner had ever been to edinburgh before, so when we booked our stay here we had no idea how beautiful the actual city was and that leith was a good couple of... We had a wonderful stay at the Malmaison in January. It's location by the water-front in Leith is very atmospheric, and there are a good number of excellent (seafood) restaurants right on the doorstep. It's easy to get to the centre of town, with a bus stop just along the road and most routes going that way. It takes about... More

Having stayed in the Malmaison in Reading I was expecting similar standards. Sadly this was not to be. Cons: No air-conditioning (what modern hotel nowadays doesn't have it?) Paying for internet after 30 minutes In dire need of redecoration If room service eventually answer, the food is mediocre and service charge is already added to the bill! No safes in... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night in September 2009. We were upgraded to a suite which had an amazing rolled top bath in the centre of the room. The hotel is well located in Leith and only a short bus ride away from the city centre. There is also free car parking on site. We... More

We stayed in this hotel in the week before Xmas on a deal which gave us the room for £10.00 as long as we spent £75.00 in the Brasserie. Superficially this looks a great deal but the down-side is the sad fact, with hindsight, is that you have to eat in the Brasserie to collect. We turned up to be... More

hmmm.....having read the very positive views of this hotel I would question how genuine they are. My wife and I stayed here and the more negative reviews seem to ring a lot more true. That's not to say this is a terrible hotel, it's perfectly reasonable for a night or two. But it's looking it's age, the whole brand concept... More

Have known this hotel since it opened & always found it to be of a high standard but have not been there for some time. Booked an overnight stay as I found a good deal on-line....Then read the reviews!! We expected the worst but our stay was terrific. Our room & bathroom were large, clean, well equipped & the window... More

We had very positive experiences dining in this hotel on previous occasions and were very much looking forward to a 2 night break at the beginning of our summer holiday. We actually received a good package deal in Sky magazine. On arrival the staff were unhelpful, unfriendly and remained so for the duration of our stay. The room was nicely... More

Okay this is going to be somewhat of a mixed review so please read it all and make up your own mind (if that makes sense)...I will try and cover everything from the room, service, value and location... My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights (city break), we booked the hotel through Thomas Cook (£260 for 4 nights... More
