Great location on the waterfront. Room nice but nothing spectacular. TV very fuzzy on most stations. Decor and lighting in the hotel a bit dark. The much hyped breakfast was a let down and the big mal was exceedlingly stingy and dry and eggs benedict tasted like vinegar along with no butter for toast and no milk for the coffee.... more

The hotel does a deal if you spend £75 in the restaurant you can stay for £10. We booked this deal but asked to see a few different rooms on checking in. Port of Leith suite is amazing (bath and shower big enough for two with a plasma screen tv) so we upgraded to it for an extra £70 per... more

Lovely contemporary hotel by the waterside. Nice rooms bright and airy with comfortable beds. Romantic little bar and longe area. Expensive retsurant. Service friendly and professional. In summary great for a romantic break but expensive for a long stay. more

My fiance and I were given an engagement gift of a night in the Port of Leith suite in the hotel. The room was beautiful, immaculate and stylish. The bathroom in particular is stunning, monsoon shower and a great big bath tub facing a plasma screen, however the tv reception wasnt great. Channels were limited, we didnt even have itv2... more

The bad points The hotel room had no air cons, the shower temperature kept changing, pillow cover dirty, TV remote control was not working and during breakfast i asked for full Scottish breakfast which had... more

We managed to pick up a deal where you could stay at any Malmaison for a tenner on a Sunday night provided you spend £75 on food & drink in the restuarant. We were lucky & managed to get in on Easter Sunday. What a bargain! Note that this hotel is in Leith which is 10 minutes away from Edinburgh... more

I recently organised a business meeting for delegates from Finland and Estonia. The organisation of the accommodation , business meetings and all meals was superb. All dietary requirements were catered for and the group had first class service throughout. The menus were reflective of the superb produce Scotland has to offer and our guests from abroad were bowled over with... more

The room is beautiful. The four poster bed is amazing and very comfortable. The decor is sleek and stylish and the bathroom is very luxurious with the roll top bath, walk in shower and plasma screen tv. Plenty of really good places to eat and drink in Leith and Edinburgh city centre is a short journey away. more

We stayed in the Port of Leith suite which was a great space for the family. Kids aged 6 and 4 loved the TV in the bathroom - and the four poster bed was a novelty! Staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the Hotel Brasserie for breakfast and dinner on the first night and although we were the... more

Myself and my partner were only in this hotel for one night but we were bowled over by the excellent value for money offered. Granted we were in an Executive room but the decor and standard of room were both excellent. Our dealings with staff were all very pleasant and we hope to have cause to return in the near... more
