Great old house, beautifull building and garden, birds everywhere. Very calm apart from the classical music all day long in the public areas which is ennoying. Super breafast. Very nice staff in kilts!! A great place. 10mn taxi (10£) from city center where parking is impossible or expensive. Highly recommended as an great old fashion hotel.

Marvellous 'find' - discovered thanks to the wifi on the train on the way up to Edinburgh. Once booked, we cancelled the budget hotel booking and was very pleased to arrive at Prestonfield, the peacocks on the lawn awaiting our arrival from the station. Kilted staff were eager to please, without fawning or condescension, and nothing was too much trouble.... More

From first contact 6 months prior to our big day until leaving the day after our wedding, our wedding experience at Prestonfield was sensational. If you are looking for a magical, historic 5-star location in Edinburgh, with professional service and amazing food, then we would recommend the Prestonfield experience. We stayed at the Prestonfield Hotel, Edinburgh for a 3 night stay. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored manor house set in attractive grounds adjacent to a golf course. You feel like you are in the middle of the countryside and it is hard to believe that the hustle and bustle of the city centre is only a 10... More

Lucky me my friend invited me to share this with her. Sumptious drawing room... like slipping back in time and enjoying the most relaxed atmosphere. Everything is as you would hope and the service is superb - just right. It wasn't too much effort to show us round later even though it was busy - fabulous hotel and with fabulous... More

A truly memorable experience. We arrived by chance to have afternoon tea and we were made to feel very welcome. We ate in the Salon Privee and enjoyed the privacy and view over the garden. The staff were so keen to help and very polite. The St Andrew tea was delicous. We were even given a little tour. We will return.... More

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions now and have been delighted with every visit. The hotel is dog friendly and has beautiful grounds and surroundings to exercise our hound. lt is unlike any other we have stayed in as all the rooms and public areas are individual and have their own quirky artefacts and ornaments that make... Our four day stay was simply outstanding. The Ben Franklin Suite has an old yet luxurious feel with all the amenities you could hope for. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is exceptionally helpful and the accommodations terrific.
