We had a great wedding last week at Prestonfield. Everything went to plan & the staff were very attentive yet unobtrusive. The duty manager, think it was Gareth was excellent and ensured that everything went like clockwork. Our guests also enjoyed the day and have commented on the beautiful venue and excellent food and drink. We spent our wedding night... More

This is quite possibly one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in!!! Its like nowhere we've ever stayed before. Total luxury from the moment we arrived until the moment we left! The individually designed reception rooms welcomed you with beautiful flower arrangements and roaring fires. Our room was the Lord Provost Suite and was fabulous, the four... More

We have just recently returned from another lovely visit to one of our favourite hotels . It is around 2 years since our last visit and in some respects it was nice to see that nothing much has changed. Same beautiful entrance with lots of flowers/bulb arrangements to meet you as you are cheerily lead up to reception. Same luxury... More

Just returned from our third stay at the spectacular Prestonfield. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly and attentive team who go the extra mile to ensure you want for nothing. The hotel it'self is elegant and extravagant in an amazing setting surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens in the shadow of Arthur's Seat. Peacocks roam the grounds and are... More

We stayed at Prestonfield for our anniversary, and we had certainly made a good choice. This could be the best hotel I have ever stayed at (and I have stayed at Gleneagles!). Located in its own grounds at the foot of Arthur's Seat, the setting is so peaceful, and no problem parking the car. Our room was luxurious and just... More

Stayed at Prestonfield House last month. The Allan Ramsay suite was both exquisite and very relaxing. Dinner in the Rhubarb Restaurant was delicious as was breakfast. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. If you are looking for that somewhere special to dine the Prestonfield is a MUST.

Do have tea when you're here...excellent spread and Sunday lunch isn't shabby. Charming setting; dining rooms are all more of the Scottish baronial thing which is no bad thing. Excellent place for organising a party, be it sit-down lunch or anything more. It is pricey but not unfeasible. Could be ok with children if the children are civilised. Gardens are... More

Our first visit and on arrival we could see immediately what all the fuss was about. This place is stunning! It re-writes the dictionary definition of decadent. Its the Witchery by the Castle, then some. Our room was in the same vein; a most romantic location. Sadly, the bottle of champagne we were promised on arrival was not in evidence.... More

Stayed at the Prestonfield last weekend and was truly disappointed by the whole experience. The room cost £325 an absolute shocker when you are faced with a room that feels like the walls are closing in on you. The dark decor and poor lighting, extremely high and uncomfortable bed, shower that doesn't work, TV with no power cable really need... More
