Had lunch, dinner, attended an event and had coffee in the space of a few weeks - everything was perfect every time. The food is consistently excellent, the service is exceptional and the place is very comfortable, like being at home - but on a very grand scale! I keep going back because I have never been disappointed. Great for... More

I was treating my husband to a birthday afternoon tea. I have been with friends many times and never been disappointed. Today I was rather surprised that we were being served in the restaurant rather then upstairs. I was not told this, when I booked a week in advance, that we would be seated in the restaurant . I noticed... More

This is exactly what you expect when you think "5 Star Hotel" From the sincerely friendly staff to the fantastic food and grounds, nothing is overlooked. It's in a perfect location to relax away from the crowds, with spectacular views of Arthur's seat, but not too far from town. We stayed 4 nights in the Benjamin Franklin suite which is... More

My husband and two girls (ages 6 and 9) spent two weeks traveling around Scotland this August and decided to end our trip at Prestonfield. It turned out to be our favorite hotel ... for the service, peacocks, one table tea room, convenient Scottish show next door, food, décor, crochet, champagne ... I could go on and on. Such a... More

Will recommend highly, amazing huge glamorous suites, lovely grounds and professional friendly staff, we could not have wanted anything else, loved the croquet on the front lawn too, a bit of a distance to get into the city so we stayed in the amazing hotel instead as it was such an amazing place

Great old house, beautifull building and garden, birds everywhere. Very calm apart from the classical music all day long in the public areas which is ennoying. Super breafast. Very nice staff in kilts!! A great place. 10mn taxi (10£) from city center where parking is impossible or expensive. Highly recommended as an great old fashion hotel.

Marvellous 'find' - discovered thanks to the wifi on the train on the way up to Edinburgh. Once booked, we cancelled the budget hotel booking and was very pleased to arrive at Prestonfield, the peacocks on the lawn awaiting our arrival from the station. Kilted staff were eager to please, without fawning or condescension, and nothing was too much trouble.... More

From first contact 6 months prior to our big day until leaving the day after our wedding, our wedding experience at Prestonfield was sensational. If you are looking for a magical, historic 5-star location in Edinburgh, with professional service and amazing food, then we would recommend the Prestonfield experience. We were blessed by beautiful weather so were lucky enough to... More

We stayed at the Prestonfield Hotel, Edinburgh for a 3 night stay. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored manor house set in attractive grounds adjacent to a golf course. You feel like you are in the middle of the countryside and it is hard to believe that the hustle and bustle of the city centre is only a 10... More
