After an 11 hour journey up to Scotland for meetings on the way this was perfect. Easy parking, nothing too much of a problem for the staff on reception and beautiful comfortable rooms. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to do so in future.

Room fresh, modern and very elegant. Perfect location especially if only in town 24 hours. Great pubs across the street and Edinburgh Castle at one end of the Royal Mike and funky Parliament bodhisattva and Palace at Holyrood at the other end.

Not the best Radisson I have ever stayed in with the room being slightly tired in places with a faulty blind and stained grout etc. but these few things aside it is very well located on the mile and the breakfast was top notch! It does have a Rather expensive bar but it is well located with music and sports... More

First impressions can tell a story. Unfortunately the gentleman at reception, although helpful and went through the normal formalities he was very unkempt, in need of a shave and dirty suit jacket. I stayed in room 625, the room was very basic, tired looking and in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. The carpet very dated n stained, the furniture... More

Wow what a fabulous hotel this is. I was booked overnight and breakfast as a birthday gift and stayed with a friend. The hotel is right in the heart of Edinburgh. Our room was spotless, very comfy and stylish. Big comfy beds, lovely furnishings and sleek bathroom. We used the pool and sauna and both were fantastic. The staff, including... More

After staying in B & B's throughout England for two weeks, the Radisson was an incredible pleasure. We had a room on the 4th floor in the back with an incredible view of the Firth of Fourth and Arthur's Seat. Very quiet. This hotel has thought of everything in terms of luxury and convenience, from a pillow catalog, to plug-ins... More

Located on a bustling street of tourism, yet in walking realm to much more localism. Friendly staff. Room 420 is renovated, quiet and comfortable. Lots of restaurants to try. For more perks, ask for a business room. Knowledgeable concierge. Great for tourists, buses are close and often . Lots of hills, wear appropriate casual shoes. Unique alley ways, lead to... More

My room was on the fourth floor and it was very nice. It reminded me of a doll room with high ceiling and then low near the window. I looked out of the window and saw birds flying by and a beautiful view of the mountain with people hiking. The breakfast buffet was very traditional for the UK. A very... More

Excellent hotel in an excellent location on the Royal Mile, exceptionally helpful and pleasant staff at check in, comfortable room and comfortable bed, good sound-proofing (as the Royal Mile can be noisy at night). Good breakfast, and they heat the plates for hot breakfast (it's amazing how many hotels don't bother). Free wifi. Can't speak too highly of this place,... More

Very good location at a walking distance to the castle and the city center. The rooms are big and if not very new comfortable. Breakfast good and service as well. Wifi is included and good speed. The gym has few tools but running around is nice

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
