I was really worried about staying here after reading some of these reviews but it was absolutely fine. Granted, the noise from the bar downstairs is loud if your room is near the courtyard, so its not for those looking for a quiet weekend but if your here for a partying/drinking weekend, its perfect - we were on a hen... more

when you turn up to the Hotel checked in on a sunday you have to climb thru the beer garden (yard) of the Three Sisters Pub! most staff were not very helpful, and tried to charge us double foe the room, we got a deal that included breakfast, this seemed to confuse the staff, i did not go to breakfast... more

We are a group of a dozen 60 somethings and we stayed here for 2 nights. I must admit I was prepared for the worst, but because of when we stayed - during the week - we were spared much of the noise spoken about by some reviews I've read elsewhere. A few days before we left for Edinburgh I... more

Very disappointing. This "hotel" should be reassessed as a hostel because there is no way this place qualifies for a hotel. Only good point was that it was cheap... I should've known better. Room: the first room they showed me had a window held up by a drinking glass, the second room was stuffy, I finally chose the 3rd room... more

Its a hole!!! Mould everywhere, fire risks, small slanted bed. Avoid this hole at all costs. You can get much better at the same cost. I've been in better hostels than this hotel. more

Don't believe what you read about this hotel. Yes it is beside a pub and is noisy, but I have stayed here twice now and only had good experiences. Yes the rooms are basic, and a bit tired but clean, and for that price in the centre of Edinburgh what do you expect?! I recommend this hotel for people on... more

It is very difficult to find the hotel. It is located on Cowgate Street which seems to only be accessible by using the small alleyways called "closes". I had a written confirmation that said that breakfast was included in the price, but the front desk said that is was not. Asked for a wake call, but never received one. Overall,... more

Ok, we read the reviews and decided to take a chance...no place would be THAT bad, right? (on our honeymoon, stupidly). The place smelled like regurgitated beer and stale [-]. I don't know what rooms they took their website photos in, but our room looked nothing like it. We DID ask for a corner room on the highest floor, which... more

I stayed here with my boyfriend New Years 07 for 4 nights. We are an out going lively couple we went out every night, we'd get back to the hotel at 1.30-2 am the bar was still in full swing each night till about 4-5am. We found it very noisy and hard to sleep even though we had a few... more
