Found the room to be dirty and smelly. Had to go to reception for towels on arrival. Was going to go restaurant on last night we were all a bit tired after weekend.decided to just have a couple of drinks, and pizza and chips, they arrived both took a bite of pizza it was soggy and cold, sent it back... more

Basically inadequate double glazing and the cobbled streets outside Get your hands in your pockets and buy some proper double glazing Otherwise hotel was as expected from Travelodge, hotel was absolutely full and so breakfast was a shambles, but food was good and hot, so worth the long wait Location is fantastic, but anything more than a one night stay... more

On worst side all the rooms opens up to main steet which is very noisey specially on wekkend. So do not expect good sleep Location is near to edinburgh Waverly station which is good if you are travelling by public transport. Hotel doesnot have its own parking. Plus rooms are not clean and even doble room feels very small. Only... more

Good location close to Waverly station but you get what you pay for (and more since we 3 girls arrived to find a drunken guy asleep face down outside our open hotel room!- one call to reception and he disappeared). Room looked out onto St Mary's St which is cobbled so pretty noisey as cars drive past- double glazing did... more

As regular Travelodgers we knew exactly what to expect when we arrived. This is a very GOOD T/L. Clean rooms. Very friendly, helpful reception staff and 2 nights for a grand totlal of £38! Do not expect luxuries. The whole point of Travelodges is to provide a clean, comfortable en suite room for a night hopefully at a low rate... more

Four of us stayed there for the weekend. We used this as a base for our trip, which was ideal - bottom of the Royal Mile. Rooms - very basic and compact but clean. Hotel was full of stag and hen parties but no issues with noise from other guests when in room. Room was stuffy and opening window made... more

This is a good travelodge experience. Rooms clean and tidy. The location is superb, just off the royal mile. Hotels are quite expensive in edinburgh so was pleased to pay £49. You do get towels, despite what one other reviewer says! You sort of know what your getting with travelodge and this was a good one. more

We booked this hotel as it was right in the centre and half the price of most other hotels in Edinburgh. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the location of this hotel was spot on! Couldn't have asked for anything better for the price. more

Apparently all traveldges are removing phones from the rooms, which means no wake up calls: and no clocks in the rooms mean you had better have brought your own. There is one bath towel, and it is not changed ever, there is no free internet access, no iron, no remote for the tv, and the breakfast (free at La Quinta)... more

I didn't realise when I booked a room at this hotel that is was just around the corner from the royal mile. It's only a budget hotel so don't expect anything fancy, but I found the hotel to be quite and clean with friendly staff. If you want very good value for money, you can't go past this hotel as... more
