Spent a couple of nights here and I loved the location; just off the Royal Mile. Shoddy room service though; both a ceiling light and a bedside light needed replacing and on the second day the used towel was not replaced and there were no liners in the bins. All reported to and speedily rectified by the duty manager, but... More

If you don't mind hen parties partying up all night, banging on your door, having noisy sex all night then this is the hotel for you. Rooms very basic, only a bit of soap, no bath mat, no expelair in shower hence the mould on the walls. One pillow each and torn duvets. Disinterested reception staff who have no local... More

Stayed for one night and teh location is excellent right in the heart of edinburgh. The receptionist advised us a stag party was also booked in and would we prefer a quiet area on the top floor which we accepted The rooms are basic, but very clean and T & C making facilities in the room. The breakfast was okay... More

This was my third trip to Edinburgh at this time of year and, having stayed in this Travelodge last year, I decided to return thanks to its fantastic location and value for money. Both times I have stayed in this hotel, it has served its purpose spectacularly - and I have been pleasantly surprised for a Travelodge. This year in... More

This is a short 5 minute walk from the railway station, and about 30 seconds from the Royal Mile. The place is a bit shabby, the fixtures and fittings are worn and in need of update, but ok. As we were staying two nights, we were given a 4th floor room at the back (with a good view too). At... More

3 nights for £45 is unbelievable even at this time of year in Edinburgh. That's the total for the room and not per guest. No breakfast but there's a large number of food premises nearby. This was a large family room with a convertible couch. Minimal toiletries but so what. And the key-card for the door worked every time; a... More

Stayed here for two nights in April 2012. I picked this hotel as I was doing a nearby Half Marathon. The location was perfect, the price was cheap, but the hotel is really showing its age. The rooms are looking very tired, as well as the reception and bar/restaurant area. I wouldn't stay here again.

I have recently come back from Edinburgh on a 4 day break with friends. The hotel is very nosiy if you are facing the road, over the carpark isnt so bad. The hotel could do with a facelift. They gave us clean towels every day expect one day they only have us 2 towels instead of 4. Didnt eat the... More

I stayed there with my friends and their children, 4 adults and 4 children in total, in 2 family rooms. We were happy. The rooms were wide, each had a pull-out sofa, good for 2 children. The beds were comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Kettle was provided with coffee, tea, sugar and creamer. No telephone in the room. Very... More

I am so shocked at bad reviews this place has got. You don't buy a second hand Ford Fiesta and expect a Ferrari; come on people get real! We paid £100 for two nights; there was two adults and two kids [1 room]. Most hotels are about £80 per night. It doesn't have the fancy decor of the Hilton but... More
