Was everything you expect from a budget hotel, no complaints minus the fact that the lobby, reception area, bar, restaurant and breakfast area are all one room. Great service from several reception staff, however was not matched with a certain couple. Would stay again overall.

This is only my second review on Trip Advisor - the last review I posted was glowing. This one I would only say do NOT stay in this place. It is hands down the worst hotel I have stayed in. Staff have zero clue and are rude. Not helped with nearly being knocked over by a football at reception on... More

The recent refurbishment was certainly noticed as the room was modern, clean and practical. My only criticism would be that it was on the small size. The location was fantastic - only a few minutes walk to Princes Street etc. They held our bags whilst we explored Edinburgh on our check out day which was extremely handy. Overall, it was... More

The hotel is well located not too far from Waverley Station. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The room had not been cleaned well. There was still rubbish on the table from previous guests, the bathroom had not been cleaned properly and I am not sure the bed had been changed? Either that or the cleaner is sadly loosing her/his hair... More

easy to get to a short walk from the train station and just off the royal mile, so near to all the attractions in the centre. Spent a day at the zoo which is on the main bus route so no hassle getting there. Edinburgh Castle make sure you go early as plenty to see and can take up to... More

Excellent location just off the royal mile, clean room and friendly staff. For the price paid I wouldn't expect much more! The room is basic, the shower leaked a bit and wasn't the best, but for a couples of nights it was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable!

I'm laying in bed now just mulling things over. We were booked to stay at the travelodge right by princes st. However, due to excessive noise due to demolition work...which had nothing to do with travelodge & was beyond their control, we was given the option of staying there or being moved to this hotel. JEN was fantastic. Defo management... More

5 for a Travelodge???? really Chris ??? Have I been at the sherry again !!! No it really did deserve it. I got what I expect from a Travelodge, clean, comfortable and good location ( which if you read my reviews of other Travelodges you can see they don't always manage that ) However I also received the best service... The Travelodge is in a great location to explore the City, Just off the Royal mile, its in easy walking distance of Waverley Station and the main tourist sites in the old Town. I had a room up on the 4th floor facing over the car park, so it was really quiet. The room was typical Travelodge, basic but it... More

I would strongly recommend this Travelodge on St Mary Street, Central, Not far from Waverley Train Station, few yards from Royal Mile. Plenty of shops, pubs and places to visit close at hand. Edinburgh Castle worth a visit. Had very good night sleep, slept in extremely comfy bed. Staff were helpful, polite and courteous. I forgot my hairdryer and they... More
