Stayed here twice now, most recent being last week with my girlfriend. The Hotel is in a prime location, easy access to the city, had private parking(which is essential in Edinburgh as there is lack of).Rooms are very clean, staff are helpful & the prices are good.we will be back!!

Stayed in this Hotel for one night. Whilst it is basic it is spotless, very friendly staff and has all you need. It is situated just off Princess Street opposite the train station. You will be out seeing the sights of Edinburgh so there is little point paying out for a swanky Hotel. I would definitely stay here again !!!!!

This hotel is great value for money in comparison to other hotels in the area. The location was perfect, situated just a short walk from the main station and in the old time with lots of cafes, reaturants and tourists attractions near by! The hotel is very basic and the ascetic is slightly dated. The shower leaked all over the... More

Just came back from a one nights stay at the travelodge Edinburgh and have to report that it is a great location and the staff are very attentive and helpful. It is so useful to have a car park (25 spaces total) and luckily I go the last one. I did pay by phone/text and it turned out cheaper than... More

My husband and I stayed here 1 July, as we were attending the Queens garden party, hotel staff were amazing from reception to bar, nothing to much trouble for them and always with a smile, very polite. We had a meal at night and breakfast in morning both were delicious and very reasonable prices. Our room was ideal for us, clean... More

Exactly as you'd expect from a Travelodge: budget hotel yet good quality. This hotel could not have been in a better location - a road from the royal mile, could not ask for much more! The staff are very, very pleasant and nice. Always willing to help and offer anything they need. For example, when our room was not cleaned... More

Good location off the Royal Mile near all the excursion pick up points. Book a family room if you want a bath. Clean and spacious, good for a short stay. Breakfast quite good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. Try World End Pub on corner for great pub grub.

basic, clean hotel room. Perfect location. Cannot go wrong with this hotel! Parking was a little bit confusing as it is not clear how you have to get in and out of the car park but worked it out eventually. Overall though very impressed.

Hotel is in a good location, just off the royal mile making it great for shopping, food and drinks. When we arrived we were early so on the off chance tried to book in, which they let us which was great. The room was clean and tidy but needed updating.. (furniture was battered and bathroom was chipped in places) but... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
