Having stayed at other hotels in this chain, this was a disappointing experience. Stayed on 2 separate nights recently due to location next to station as I was travelling on business. Website states breakfast is from 0630 on weekdays - however, this is continental selection only. On the morning after my first night, staff in the restaurant seemed unaware that... More

Location sells this Jury's Inn. Have stayed in many other across the UK and Dublin and the rooms in the Edinburgh Inn are by far the worse. Carpet was worn, patched and frayed, rubber window seal was hanging down off the window. Bed was comfortable apart from the squeaky noise. Bathroom tiling just looked dirty with grey and black grouting... More

Visited here for two nights, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean and tidy. Arrived by car but there was no car park or any street parking. We had to park in the train station just down the road and although it offers 25% off parking fee for staying at Jurys Inn, it was still very expensive. Would recommend getting... More

Stayed for 2 nights over a weekend! Hotel is ideally located just yards from the train station and the Royal Mile. Check in was very quick and staff at the hotel were very helpful and professional. The room itself was basic which I expected for the price. Overall the room was dated and a little rough around the edges but... More

Stayed in this hotel from the 28th of January to the 1st of February. Check in was so quick and the reception staff were lovely. The room was spotless from day one and if you needed anything you received it very quickly. All of the staff were very friendly from day one! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying... More

Great for location and price, only fault is we got a standard room wish I upgraded this as bed was to small and was hard. Overall great stay location was excellent and car park was a 2 minute walk which the hotel gave us discount off. Had a lovely stay. Thank you!

Really excellent value for money. Waverley Station and bus routes 5 min walk away and hotel very central/just a stones throw from Royal Mile. For £10 you get a huge breakfast that sets you up for the day. Room (626)was spacious and very comfortable. It faced the back. Only downside for me was when using the shower-the shower curtain kept... More

great Hotel in a good location, just a couple of things to complain about, get rid of the shower curtain it's so old fashion, also the shelve in the bathroom right as you walk in with the two glasses on I hit that so many times its a joke, but would stay again just ask to be at the front... More

Hotel was very easy to find, arrived and check in was simple and efficient. Astra on reception was very welcoming answered our questions and showed us the nice places to visit during our stay. Rooms were simple and clean. Our only negative experience was in the bar, it was about 8.30pm we we're starving and after travelling didn't want to... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
