This has been the best hostel I have stayed at yet. It's lively, safe, clean, perfect location and excellent value. I recommend this hostel wholeheartedly. As a solo traveler, safety with good value is imperative and this hostel served both those needs and exceeded my expectations. There are plenty of other young people there so it's easy to make friends... More

Arrived to a warm welcome. Couldn't believe how many common rooms and the quality of facilities. Generally an awesome hostel will definitely be goin back. More

Immaculately clean! And it is really under the castle. I enjoyed my full course breakfast of cereal, peanut butter and rasberry sandwhich, and apple juice! You have other choices of course. More

This hostel is literally right next door to Edinburgh castle in old town, and very close to the grassmarket where there are heaps of restaurants and pubs. It is clean and the staff are excellent. We stayed in a private room (45£ per night) - you don't pay for space or noise restrictions but the rooms are warm and you... More

The hostel was clean and the theme for every room (I got the Beatles room) was very creative. The staff was very friendly and the place was definitely secure. I felt safe at all times and would stay here again! More

Firstly, I'd like to say that it's not as good as everyone say. It's a great hostel, that's true, but it's not the best ever, as some people say in the critics, and it's not even the best in Edinburgh. In my opinion, the budget backpackers hostel is much better and less creepy. The location is great, at the end... More

I only stayed one night but had a list of quite definite positives and negatives about this hostel. It was a bargain but was not that much cheaper than one I stayed in in Dublin earlier this year which was far better. Positives - the price, a great, laid-back and welcoming atmosphere and mix of guests, brilliant position literally next... More

This is a hostel I won't forget in a hurry. It wasn't particularly bad or particularly good, just memorable. If it's style and comfort you are after don't come here. If it's character and interesting people, this place has both in spades. I'm not saying that all the people are interesting or even friendly but they'll be someone worth talking... More
