Had a great weekend staff were friendly and very helpful especially with directions. Room was clean and tidy.Facilities were good. I hadn't been to Edinburgh for years so it was lovely to stay there and show my partner all the sites. Really good value would recommend it.

...which isn't meant as a negative thing! We stayed here because of its central location and cheap prices. We were visiting Edinburgh to see the Fringe and just wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful. This did the job - we stayed in an 8 bed dorm which could have been an awful lot worse! Clean linen and lockers, communal showers which... More

Nothing special, but I had a nice stay here. Staff were very nice, rooms were fairly comfortable. Some pretty rough looking showers while I was there, but you get what you pay for. That said, it was a pretty good experience. I would stay again!

When staying in cities in the western world you can find yourself staying in huge characterless hostels and fortunately Edinburgh Backpackers is not one of those places. Yes its big but they have really put a lot of effort into making it feel warm, inviting and personal. The staff are all really friendly helping me with a few things during... More

Very helpful staff (couldn't do enough to help). Room was average, you get what you expect to get. Great location, close to everything. Edinburgh fringe festival on at the time so the city was pumping - amazing place! Shops, pubs and restaurants all close by.

I stayed here on August during fringe festival. So I had to pay 35pound per day(8people mix dorm). It was quiet expensive. I think One thing is good location is close to main sightseeing. However I used double deck bed's upper then There was no ladder. It was so difficult climb. And there was no socket in the room. Well... More

We stayed in a private double room at 34a which is located over the road from the main hostel. Our room was at the top of 3 flights of stairs, which maybe some people should consider. Reception staff, and other staff, are friendly and able to recommend things to do. The hostel also offer a discounted breakfast at the adjoined... More

This was my first trip to Edinburgh and I am sure it will not be the last. Coming from London to see the Pandas at the zoo. The hostel is easy to locate and friendly staff to call on, should you get lost and need directions. I arrived very earlier on my check in day but was allowed to leave... More
