4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We only went for only night for on a weekend for a short visit but would have loved to have stayed longer. The hotel was modern, clean and well decorated. The room was stayed in was huge, and had a great view of the city. It was a short walk away from the centre.

As a wedding anniversary treat we spent a night at The Bonham on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. We thoroughly enjoyed the good food, comfortable room and courteous but friendly staff. The Bonham is in a beautiful part of Edinburgh and within easy walking distance of many of it's main attractions. We will definitely return.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in late January, our daughter who lives in Scotland joined us for two of those nights, we booked a double room and twin for her. Firstly let me start by thanking Anna on reception, what an absolute star she is, so helpful and polite. She recommended some sightseeing activities along with tip... More

The Bonham is becoming my preferred automatic place of stay in Edinburgh. Another excellent experience here. Room was spacious and well looked after. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast's were a guilty pleasure, and the location was walking distance from everywhere I visited. Perfect.

The hotel is quiet, meaning no humming air conditioning and no workers running trolleys over cobbles too early in the morning. Nice location for the West End offices. Clean rooms well laid out and pleasant staff. Breakfast is good (I am tempted to try the dinner at some point) and check in and out is painless. Idea for the business... More

We came to Edinburgh for a little break away and chose to stay at The Bonham. It's a lovely townhouse style hotel in a good location (only about a 10 minute walk to the centre of the city). Check in was quick and easy. We needed parking so used the hotels parking- we did find this pricey at £15 a... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
