This is a modern well staffed hotel within walking distance of major tourist attractions in Edinburgh. From the warm reception we received at the from desk to the wonderful concierges and the marvelous personalized service at the daily breakfast buffet, this hotel is top notch, Many guests loved the pool and spa which we did not use during our visit.... Excellent service from start to finish, decor was modern and all facilities were of a high standard. Excellent location for the attractions! I shall return next time I am visiting Edinburgh! The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Didn't eat there as had other plans but the restaurant looked inviting.

Just spent one night in a club castle view room on our way through Edinburgh. We were on our way to a trip through the Highlands but as soon as we checked in we wished we had longer to spend here. Everything was good as ever. The club lounge was very busy on a Saturday night but coped well. We... More

Convention center is two minutes away. Lovely services. Wonderful view of Edinburgh castle from the windows in the very comftable rooms. The breakfast is very good a is good start... More

We have stayed in this hotel several times and have always upgraded to a room that gives access to the spa and 7th. floor lounge. The spa itself is well worth the upgrade especially the hot tub on the roof. As vegetarians we have felt a little hard done to by the food provided in the lounge during previous visits.... More

Modern, comfortable, conveniently located to the city's main tourist attractions. The Staff are unfailingly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. For concert goers, it is also excellently located directly across the street (Lothian Road) from Edinburgh's Usher Hall. Restaurant is a bit pricey, but all kind of wonderful food options are a 15 minute walk away across Princes Street and to the... More

Although Ediburgh was the star of this trip the Sheraton accommodations enhanced our stay primarily by being in a primo location. We took a tour of the spa and wished we had scheduled more time in the city and prayed the weather would be horrible so we could stay in and enjoy. Since the weather was great we never got... More

Had a great couple of nights stay here. Staff attentive, particularly in the Bar One of an evening. Breakfast check in a little slow, selection great unless you are gluten free..saw no bread option and all yoghurt cows. No milk alternative that I saw. Bed comfy and a good sleep. Its in a great location.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel - very friendly staff, ideal location, access to great transportation options (I took the tram from the airport) and a great room! I arrived early morning with the hopes of having access to my room early (I had asked for it on my reservation but knew it wasn't guaranteed). Further, just before... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
