Stayed at The Howard for 4 nights in end of April. Overall a 7/10 experience. Butler Fraser was brilliant as was the other young man whose name I didn't get. Very large and nice room and the bathroom is lovely. They promote the hotel restaurant as some great place to eat on the site. Unfortunately for what its all about... more

This delightful hotel in Edinburgh's "New Town" sits just a short walk from Princes Street in a haven of genteel quietude. Comprised of 3 Georgian residences dating from the 1780's it offers top class accommodation, attentive, charming and discreet staff and a restaurant with a limited menu but very well presented fare. Although my wife had stayed at the Howard... more

We booked our stay at The Howard using a great feature on Last Minute.com. Basically, they have hotels that you can book as mystery hotels. You get a description of where the hotel is and the star rating but no name until you have confirmed the booking.Once you click on ok, you find out where you will be staying-all very... more

We arrrived at the Howard on our honeymoon and stayed for 2 nights. We were upgraded for free to the Abercrombie Suite. It really was 5* treatment! our butler was lovely! The room was top of the range with a 4 poster bed and the decoration was finished to a high standard. It was situated very close to the centre... more

this was a return visit for us, and we spent two nights this trip. Our room was large, well appointed and very quiet. The staff was wonderful, booking theatre tickets and making suggestions for dinner. A trip to Scotland isn't complete without scotch, and the butlers are very willing to share their knowledge and assist in tastings. We will definitely... more

A fortnight before we arrived at The Howard we were contacted to see if there were any bookings, services etc that the hotel could help us with. This particular service was excellent and saved us considerable time and effort - emails went back and forth between us and we ended up with a wonderful package of restaurant bookings, carol service... more

The hotel was booked due to rave reviews - I went with an open mind & no pre-conceived ideas. Welcome was friendly Huge bedroom, huge bathroom - little tired though. Beautiful bouquet of flowers in room. Turn down a waste of time as dirty glasses left in room & bin not even emptied. As winner of the Thistle's 'Customer Service'... more

I spent 2 nights at this great hotel. The location is great as everything is Edinburgh is a walk away if you don't mind hills! The decor is smart and ornate; but not stuffy. The staff are friendly, happy to help and very accomidating to all your needs. I was greated just as I left the taxi by staff who... more

My husband and I got married in edinburgh castle in June and after looking through many hotel websites we chose to stay in The Howard over the wedding. Took us a couple of times driving up and down Gt King Street before we found the hotel - it looks like a terraced house from the outside. We parked the car... more

We planned to stay in Edinburgh for a week and chose the Howard because we had a child with us and it looked like they had a large luxurious sutie. We were given their largest suite, the Marchmont. On a positive note, the hotel is located in an upscale residential area in Edinburgh. It is an easy walk to George... more
