First, my only complaint. I wish they had put directions from the train station on their website. It really is an easy walk but only if you know where you're heading when you leave the station (essentially it's the opposite end of Princes Street from the station!) Now all my commendations. First, it is a great setting right below the... more

I stayed there for my honeymoon weekend. The great location, elegant rooms and adequate staff made our stay there quite memorable. But there are certain downsides that spoil the impression like white towels with spots (really, for that price it shouldn't be that way). Also don't move items in the fridge if you don't intend to have a drink -... more

I have recently returned from a three night stay at this hotel. I am rather disappointed with the quality of the room's. Although I had a very large room, the king bed was very uncomfortable, and after Three night's sleeping in it, I have had back pain since. The window's in this room don't have double glazing, and I was... more

Visited Edinburgh for three nights with my family. While I had read some marginal reviews I could not have been more impressed with the staff and facilities. The location was excellent and the rooms were well appointed. I would recommend this hotel to others. more

This is such a great hotel. The location is ideal, the staff extremely helpful and the breakfast amazing! The room itself was of a reasonable size, and came with flat screen TV, a decent number of channels (though missing quite a few standard freeview channels), large bed, big bathroom and the usual bits and pieces. We had a couple of... more

Myself and my partner stayed here from 29th June 09 for two nights. This was a surprise for my partners birthday and it went down very well. I paid 227 pounds for two nights bed and breakfast in a dexluxe room (room 242). The hotel is centrally located and is just at the bottom of Princess Street which gives easy... more

Beautiful Hotel and loaded with history. Some rooms face Edinburgh Castle and Parks. By far the finest breakfast I have had in a long long time. Excellent. I am a hard grader and rarely give anything an Excellent. This exceeded my expectations. Hope you enjoy. Mouth watering as I write this. Please note that we are Hilton Gold VIP customers.... more

Stayed at The Caledonian, as part of a business trip to Edinburgh. There's a terrible amount of road works in Edinburgh at the moment and we were having problems getting to the hotel due to closed roads etc. We rang the hotel who asked where we were and to our amazement the concierge said we were about 5 mins away... more

Our stay at the Caledonian Hilton in Edinburgh was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms much larger than what we expected. Check in was very efficient and the staff extremely accomodating. From the airport we opted for the shuttle which was only 3 pounds per person each way and about a 15 minute trip and the buses run... more

Wasn't very impressed with this place, for a variety of reasons, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. Service was good, but that's all. The hotel was located behind the castle, away from the Royal Mile. Getting to the Royal Mile really required a taxi cab ride. There is currently a lot of construction in front of the hotel,... more
