Beautiful hotel in excellent location in the centre of Edinburgh. The communal areas of the hotel are grand. The breakfast was great - didn't eat at the hotel. Have stayed here many times on business. Some rooms are better than others but if you have a problem the staff are great at sorting it out. The better rooms are lovely, spacious and traditional decor. Breakfast is usually good but the resturant is overpriced - plenty of good alternatives nearby. We have stayed at the Caledonian three times and it always impresses. The most recent time we were given a free upgrade to a Junior Suite and it was simply stunning. The food, the service, everything about it - even the toiletries, are top class. more
