My friend and I did not enjoy our stay here. We had to climb three flights of stairs to get to our room as there was no lift available. The reception is in a different building therefore we had no contact with the owner other then when we first arrived. The street outside was extremely noisy. If returning to Edinburgh... More

Stayed here for a a weekend with some friends, two bedrooms plus proper sofa bed in lounge, impressed with facilities, we even had a microwave and washing machine, shower had constant hot water, what makes this place is the location, ten minutes from the castle, really central, lots of local shops, bars, restaurants etc, was worried it might be noisy... Stayed in a one-bedroom apaprtment with my family for a long weekend. Much more convenient than a hotel for the kids and within walking distance to all of the main attractions. The apartment block itself is not much to look at from the street - in fact its quite easy to miss, however the interior has been well appointed and... More

4 of us went to stay for two nights and the apartment was lovely. Really great value for money. The office wasnt anything fancy but this made no impact what so ever. All of the staff we met were lovely and extremely helpful. The apartment itself had been kitted out well. We had a double, single and sofa bed all... More

We booked two apartments- 1 4 bed and 1 2 bed at the end of October for a reunion of friends. They were both comfortable and the location is excellent. It's only a ten/fifteen minute walk to the castle and the Royal mile and about 25 minutes to Holyrood. The flats were well equipped, although the kitchen in the four... More

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a group of friends for the weekend. They were very accommodating when we were delayed and ended up arriving 2.5 hours late at 1230am. The man who showed us to our room even went in the car with my partner to show him where to park so we wouldn't get a ticket. We... More

We stayed for three nights and these apartments were not only brilliant value, but exactly what we needed. The apartments are in a fabulous location near lots of eateries, on a main road (but we didn't find them noisy at all) and about a 15 minute walk from the main Royal Mile area. The flat itself was very spacious, clean... More

Stayed here for a weekend with the guys, and everything was as expected. Nice sitting room for having a few beers before going out, and decent kitchen and showers as well. 15 minute walk or a £6 cab ride from Princess Street, a very good place to stay for a long weekend.

Very reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Good lodging for those who want the option of cooking in the apartment and not spending a bunch of money going out to eat all the time. The location is very good but can be difficult to find if it is your first time in the city.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
